Grand Juries are closed to public and press.. and they can take a bit of time, as well. They can subpeona and inquire down any avenue of interest pertaining the case they choose.
I highly doubt it will be a quick indictment, though I expect a true bill on a number of charges.

I PERSONALLY don't think they should be charged. BUT a grand jury may look at it differently if there is proof or record of those...
This also opens it up for some interesting repercussions for the adoptive family, as their knowledge that things were NOT going well and they didn't act, is on the record as part of the missing case.
A grand jury indictment carries much more weight in "foreign" courts than a basic probable...

A grand jury offers a much wider investigative reach. Looks like the DA is on board for the death penalty.
