I reached out to the first 5 on your list and only heard back from Chapelboro.com: Hi there, Thanks for reaching out and checking up on this. Candidly, the anniversary falling on a weekend this year affected some of our efforts to do some coverage around it. But the last two years we checked...

thanks for these. I reached out online to WRAL and The Daily Tarheel. If no satisfactory response I will go down the list!

you tell us! ;) from this news item i just googled https://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/crime/article254291273.html " Police released no details about the arrest, suspect or what relationship he had, if any, to Hedgepeth. “Patience will be asked of you,” Chapel Hill Police Chief Chris Blue...

I sent something in to WRAL a year or so ago asking about coverage, and shortly after this appeared- https://www.wral.com/story/it-s-been-two-years-and-it-s-not-very-different-arrest-made-in-faith-hedgepeth-murder-two-years-ago-saturday/21052719/ Coincidence? Maybe...at any rate the above link...

thanks for this. Our thread has gone cold much in the way FH's case has gone. Wondering if there are other similar cases like this that took 2+ years from apprehension to trial. Can you imagine if MESO was wrongfully accused and imprisoned all this time? That's the type of lawsuit that can...

this article seems to be more of a check the box and appease those still following the case sort of thing, rather than actual investigative journalism. Is anyone even asking questions anymore or are they just regurgitating the existing info

11 years ago today...haven't seen any news items about today being the anniversary. Anyone else?

I am still hoping that this will play out like how LE handled the Kohberger Idaho investigation. Everyone including victims families thought they were completely inept and over their heads when they had their guy all along and were steadily building the case

I found this part curious- “We are still awaiting digital forensic analysis and cell extractions, and digital social media and translation of audio,” Montgomery-Blinn said. BBM - So are they referring to the butt dial call?

I am curious where you got this picture and if you have others? All i had ever seen was his mugshot. I am also wondering if anyone heard if LE ever released his height and weight? Looks like a big guy from mugshot picture but not so much from this other shot

It was interesting how quickly they figured out who it was via familial geneology connections. I also thought that stuff took way longer. And i agree with you I am starting to view CHPD as unprepared for this case. It is amazing to me that there has been such a hush about it across all media for...

I am sure a lot of fellow sleuthers have been following the Idaho case. Is it me or have they already released like 5 times the information in 2 days that they've done about MESO? I realize that case was on national news nightly for weeks, whereas FH was a more regional case, but still. Hope we...

Celisa Lehew named Chief recently https://www.heraldsun.com/news/local/counties/orange-county/article268922352.html thought this quote was interesting when discussing Eve Carson and FH's cases (bold by me): “Those were very dear to my heart, and definitely (I) formed strong relationships with...

its been a year since MESO was arrested. How is it possible a person can be in jail for a full year with no movement in his case? Where is the ACLU or whatever organization that would step in? I am not at all saying i support MESO, but what happened to a speedy trial? This is so bizarre

You all raise interesting points! The one thing I can't seem to wrap my head around lately is why is there no media coverage of any of this in months. I turn on WRAL and am bombarded endlessly with weather updates. The wind goes sideways and we get an hour long special about it. It's like they...

Out of sheer boredom i googled "North Carolina speedy trial" and found this- Speedy Trial | NC PRO. I found parts 2+3 interesting: 6th Amendment (Speedy Trial) The Sixth Amendment right to a “speedy and public trial” applies only to post-accusation delays, so it is not triggered until...

i think if you are pulled over under suspicion of being intoxicated, and you refuse a breathalyzer test, they can legally take you in and draw a blood sample. I don't know if having a blood sample is the same as taking a cheek swab though, as far as getting DNA. Also not sure if LE would be...
