is it normal that the family/wife doesn't speak up more and ask for help? this facebook admin (his friend or brother) is the one that intermittently posts a vague update. in other cases, how frequent is the request from the public for help?

I'm hoping his very good friends have an idea where he is. Maybe they are trying to convince him to come back... There hasn't been an update by his wife. So maybe they are giving her some info. That's what I'm hoping..

In a voluntary missing person case, are police allowed to look at bank info, etc? I'm not sure if there's a difference if it's not considered a crime.
