Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

MS is in segregation and DM is in general pop. But DM has obviously been preparing for trial, so he was spending a lot of his time reviewing disclosures/preparing for the trial. Feel free to send me a private message if you want to hear some additional details.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

I have a friend who is a correctional officer where both MS and DM are currently housed, so he talks to them occasionally and has told me about some of the situations that he has encountered them whining to him for various reasons.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

Agreed. My point wasn't that Jennings broke the case. My point was that if Igor hadn't identified the tattoo, DM still would have been identified fairly soon after. There were suggestions on here that if not for Igor, DM would have killed more people. I'm not saying Jennings was a saint; I just...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

Bosma's truck was just the beginning of his fantasy criminal enterprise... He thought he could turn this into a profitable business where he gets to satisfy his murderous needs while profiting from each kill. It's reprehensible.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

"He said he asked Crimestoppers if it was Bosma's truck. The operator, he said, told him to call back in 45 minutes. "Yes, it is the truck," Jennings recalled the operator saying. "Please tell us where it is." He didn't. "I went in shock, walked outside and went inside my pickup truck and...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

That's an interesting theory, and knowing how sick and twisted DM is, it is very plausible. Except for the fact that there were possibly several people in the house at the time (MM was there, WM may have been there). If they took that opportunity to hurt her (I hope they didn't), then is there...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

I don't think he cared if MS saw LB. I think it was probably the other way around. He didn't want LB to know that MS was there. Especially if he was about to murder her. He probably also didn't want MM to see LB arrive at the house either. The less MM sees, the better.

I agree that it was great that Igor identified the tattoo, but in my opinion they would have been caught soon enough anyway. SS's uncle called Crimestoppers to report that TB's truck was at the hangar, so that would have led the police to Millard regardless of Igor's tattoo identification.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

Agreed. And unfortunately for the accused, I can't see a juror not going home and Googling Dellen Millard and Mark Smich. So, although their previous conviction is not supposed to affect this case, I find it hard to believe that the jurors would not "sneak a peak" to get more background info on...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.11.17 - Charge to the Jury - Day 3

Yes, it's possible the mattress was brought to the farm to be incinerated along with the body. I would just think that the mattress might be harder to fit into the incinerator, so I thought that perhaps he disposed of the sheets and mattress that night. Also, if he was pulled over by a police...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.11.17 - Charge to the Jury - Day 3

Yes, the "present at the top of the stairs" text to Smich was 7:26PM.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.11.17 - Charge to the Jury - Day 3

He also had to deal with disposing of his old mattress, sheets, etc. That was probably one of the "missions" he was on that night; he probably took the mattress away from home and burned it or dumped it somewhere. The clean-up probably took a good chunk of his night, so he probably didn't get...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.05.17 - Closing Arguments - Day 1

No, I was not in the court. The above statement was just my own opinion. I am looking forward to a persuasive closing argument from the Crown to seal the deal for M1.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.05.17 - Closing Arguments - Day 1

Unfortunately, the claim that she is alive doesn't hold an ounce of credibility. I'm sure you could get a long lineup of people to go on a witness stand and swear that they saw Elvis Presley alive and well. But DM didn't even get a lineup of people. He had one person who claimed he saw her...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.05.17 - Closing Arguments - Day 1

It is hard not to think about the TB trial for those of us who followed that trial closely. Especially since we know the true purpose of the incinerator. Having said that, I still think there is enough evidence here to convict DM of M1 on the Babcock trial, independent of the TB trial. I think...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.05.17 - Closing Arguments - Day 1

This was to discredit the text message on July 4th where DM said "I haven't slept in 2 days". He wants to show the jury that it was normal for him to be sleep deprived so that they won't draw the conclusion that he was up all night committing a murder.

We'll see if you still feel that way after the Crown's closing arguments.

He probably didn't think of this brilliant idea until after the TB trial ;)

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 11.28.17 - Day 23

Agreed. MS is an idiot in so many ways. DM is a good talker and talented at manipulation (as many sociopaths are), but he has atrocious spelling and grammar, and I agree with your earlier comment that his narcissism, god-complex and his feeling of invincibility caused him to do a lot of dumb...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 11.28.17 - Day 23

I think putting MS on the stand was the best chance he had to save MS and put the blame on DM. A lot of people thought he was telling the truth and maybe he didn't know DM was going to kill TB (I didn't believe his testimony for a second). In the closing argument, I think everyone realized that...
