The biggest cost would probably be payroll. They had 16 employees and including salary and employer EI and CPP, etc that must have run at around $1m a year. There would also be property taxes, insurance and other running costs.
There was presumably a mortgage on the condo because DM was...
I'm not sure how important this witness's testimony is. Suppose he had never been called in, the rest of the evidence remains, this guy saying that it would be difficult to shoot the gun in that position is just a small part IMO. You could obviously never prove it, so the best you can do is...
But didn't IT's test drive take place in daylight in a more populated area, so maybe it was just a trial run. It's interesting that at the TB trial the defence relied on DM having plenty of cash so didn't need to steal, but here we are seeing how tight money was 6 months before then and getting...
I agree with you but I'm sure I have read that alcoholics can function normally and so their "problem" isn't recognised until it's too late. This is a whole debate on its own, about which I have no knowledge, but I would think that so long as an alcoholic could keep up their supply it would not...
Thanks for posting that. How would she know how many guns he had? Strange topic of conversation for a newly reunited couple.
I find the whole topic of guns disturbing. They seem to be so easily obtainable amongst these people. DM said there were 5, I think, that were given by WM to the friend...
Well we know that it was an illegal gun in Canada so what was she doing with it? She sold it for $100 so didn't know much about value of guns. It was sold through 2 others before reaching MWJ.
It was said WM carried guns when he went on solo flights up to isolated places so presumably DM was aware of guns being in the house from a very young age. Not sure why WM would need a collection of guns for that purpose. Interesting that the police officer confirmed that WM handed in his guns...
I have a TD Visa card, so checked my recent statements. There are a number of relevant dates. First the statement date - this includes all transactions posted between the previous statement date and the current one. On my April statement, in every case the posting date was between 1 and 5 days...
Although he and his buddies had been doing minor league missions for a while they didn't start to escalate until late 2011/2012 I thought. The gun stuff started early 2012 too. So to me there was a significant change about that time.
Re JS, I don't think she did get him out of her life at all...
That was quite a detailed history he gave, wasn't it? Like, I'm going down and taking you with me. Similar to the comment he made in the police interview about the guy WM gave his guns to, who was going to take them out of the country.
He is a Canadian citizen by birth and if he had a previous passport would not need to prove his citizenship again. Even if he did need to prove it, he would only need a birth cert. So not sure why he would apply for a LVTD instead.
There were 2 charts. One was a corporate chart as part of the business plan, presumably in support of the bank loan application and the other was the operational chart. The implication is that DM as a corporate officer was on the first but was not on the operational chart as he was not involved...
From that article:
A crime scene reconstructionist will testify Thursday, and it is expected that Millard's lawyer will challenge the admissibility of his evidence.
