I remember reading old newspaper articles that Surratt would drive his wife to the places of the abductions and relive them. She must know something if she is still alive. I don't think he drove Ranee that far away in his car, he must of scoped out another secluded area that wouldn't keep him on...
The Trains on SI run from St George out to Tottenville which would cover the East and South parts of SI! Willowbrook would be part of the North shore which would be covered by the Victory Blvd buses!
I read on Silive that a builder is clearing 9 acres of woods which also borders a pond along Lamberts Lane in Granitville! Over 100 townhouses will be built on top of wetlands! These greedy builders will steam roll over anything on this Island!
I remember when this happened, I think it was at the YMCA on Broadway next to the SI Zoo! I haven't been able to locate any articles on him working as a cabbie but I might of heard it from an old timer from the North Shore! I remember Sam's Cabs to be black cabs with white lettering on the door.
If she did get on the Richmond Ave bus there should of been witnesses! Did the family put up missing posters of her at the bus stop and around Mall area? Did the B/F help or did he stay out of sight?
Around that time period in the mid 70's I remember reading somewhere that Rand was working as a cab driver for Sam's cabs down at Port Richmond Ave and Richmond Terrace. He was able to look for vulnerable people while he worked!
The Island Theater was located on Richmond Ave in between the SI Mall and the Kmart parking lot where the B/F reported she exited the vehicle! Across the street was the Fresh Kills Garbage Dump! You were able to see it and smell it!
The garbage dump which is now gone thankfully was located right across from the Island theater during that time period! How easy would it have been to hide a body there?
