    Annie Le, the person

    Motive For Murder

I agree with most of the theories so far -- workplace rage. But, I also agree that it just seems like there must be more to this. An affair is one possibility, but if that was the case, there might well be rumors in the lab -- hard to keep 100% secret. I keep going back to some sinister issue...

CT- Annie Le, missing from Yale, thread #3 BODY FOUND

The walling in of someone sounds like an old Edgar Allan Poe story (Cask of Amontillado??) -- it was where an acquantance was buried in a wall for revenge. Maybe the perp is a Poe fan or got his/her idea from that story? I wonder if she was being asked to do something related to her work...

CT- Annie Le, missing from Yale, thread #3 BODY FOUND

Prayers go out for her soul -- what contributions she would have made to the world, a brilliant young woman with the world in her hands. It sounds too much like it must have been someone working there. Who else would be able to find (or prepare in advance?) a place to hide her body. They...

I checked on the bio of her former advisor at Rochestor, Rocky S. Tuan (by the way, Tuan is a common VN name, but almost always a first name). He is an expert on stem cells, and also has some patents (checked USPTO database). So, she may have been focusing on stem cells or other sensitive...

Scandi and JerseyGirl: Your theory seems more likely to me than a theft of equipment. There is huge money in this research. I knew some folks in a PhD program in pharma and biotech on the West Coast and all of the professors were multi-multi millionaires from royalties on patents they had...

One other important note re "cold feet" theories. Vietnamese have two important ceremonies (dam hoi - engagement) and (dam cuoi - wedding). The first is just between the families. The grooms family will deliver some presents to the brides family and ask for her hand, and she will receive a...

    1. You would think that they would have checked above the ceiling tiles the first day of her disappearance especially if there was no evidence of her leaving. 2. If it was a VN on VN crime, the use of acid would not be uncommon. See article below. Many woman or men in Vietnam become...

CT- Annie Le, missing from Yale, thread #2

First post here: I know a lot about VN culture, having lived in VN community for a long time. Here are a few points to consider: 1. Very common in Vietnamese weddings for old boyfriends or girlfriends to be invited to wedding, or to just come on their own accord when they hear about it...
