    Questions (and answers)

Has it been established that Annie was working on a cancer project? My understanding is that the enzyme on which the Bennett lab was focused had relevance to a number of diseases, including cancer and diabetes. Assuming Annie's project was on cancer, and assuming the mouse colony was a...

    Questions (and answers)

    1. If they all had the same job title and they were in the same animal facility, then yes they would have the same supervisor. Each animal facility typically has a facility manager/operations manager. 2. It's not the supervisor's fault, so probably not reprimanded. Typically, they will have...

    The Lab and Building

In our facility, we have the suite set-up as described previously. However, we have multiple research groups using the same suite, and even multiple groups using the same room. Thus, it is a very busy suite and it would be difficult to get away with something like this in our suite.

Police Surround Clark in Cromwell hotel room; Countdown to Arrest 3..2..1

Yes! He does sound like a good animal tech. As a researcher, I commend his apparent vigilance regarding the care of the animals, and I always take the time to express thanks to our techs when they display such conscientiousness. The problem was the manner in which RC interacted with the...

Yes, in our facility, the lab animal techs wear scrubs - it can be a hot, sweaty, dirty job sometimes.

CT- Annie Le, missing from Yale, thread #7 FOUND DECEASED

I dissected a cat in AP Biology in High School, Vertebrate Anatomy course as undergrad, and finally in the first year of vet school. Using cats as a laboratory research animal is not that common.

Mr. Clark graduated from Branford High School in Branford, Conn., and he appears first in the 2004 yearbook as a member of the Asian Awareness Club. He is photographed next to two women of Asian descent. The club, according to the yearbook, made egg rolls for a faculty luncheon and raised money...

CT- Annie Le, missing from Yale, thread #7 FOUND DECEASED

Hello all, As a grad student, postdoc and research scientist in biomedical research I have come to know and interact with many lab techs and lab animal techs. Most are extremely competent, helpful and knowledgeable people. However, I have come across a rare few that can be difficult at times...

As much fun as this is, I've gotta get back to some science. Catch you all later.

Agreed - this is the most feasible scenario given the available info.

CT- Annie Le, missing from Yale, thread #5 FOUND DECEASED

Agreed - I don't know how/why the issue of the autoclave was brought up. Not only is the autoclave accessible to anyone who has access to the lab animal facility itself (at least in our institution), but running it would take quite a bit of time (to generate the heat and pressure, exposure...

Thanks for the welcome. I think unplanned as well, and the autoclave thing (if it happended) would have been a desperate attempt to eliminate forensic evidence.

Newcomer here - Labrat, postdoc and others have done a great job at educating everyone about the system in place in many university research/lab animal facilities - thank you. I have worked in similar facilities for nearly a decade as grad student, postdoc and research scientist. Ours is...
