I can NOT even imagine my kids in an infant seat that long. Plus they would have HATED that reclining position.

Exactly! That rear facing seat would be so close to the drivers seat none of this makes sense to me!! When convertible car seats are rear facing they take up so much space!

I don't think I read that he heard him choking.... I think we're just assuming that he heard a "choking noise" that caused him to pull over for help.(IF you believe Dad's choking statement). Because we also assume Dad couldn't see Coopers face because he was rear-facing in his seat...
