The girl wanting her shorts back, immediately, is fishy to me.
The changing of hotels, the leaving in the middle of the night, fishy too.
The not knowing her directly, which could infer they knew someone who knew her (eta: they meaning maybe the perps knew one or more of the NY folks).
I...
I kayak (and own one, complete w/GPS), but don't know that river. I'd go with someone who does though. I left my contact info upthread, or can be PM'd here.
Can't do it until after bike week though, working all the time.
Would like to investigate the cell tower locations more but am too darn...
Well, I have done a cell tower search for SC, and there are several around Andrews, and some are in Williamsburg Co.
Was trying to mark the locations so I could see a bigger picture but unfortunately Google Earth is quitting on me and not saving them. I'll have to try and make sense of it...
SN, I don't know, it's confusing to me.
I don't know if this has been brought up but the more I look, the route/timeline possibilities could be quite varied, depending on the range of the phone and the towers.
Does anyone know what kind of phone she had? Some models generally have good...
Yeah, publicly available info is mucked all up, that's why I don't believe we can do but so much. LEO knows though.
Williamsburg Co map:

Whatever case as far as the mis-identification of the bus girl, the report of a ping in Williamsburg Co is a huge monkey wrench. Williamsburg Co line is on the other side of Andrews. You might be able to reach Andrews from S MB in an hour and fifteen minutes or so, but you could not go to...
SeaNymph,
(edit: working on the straight path the Georgetown, excluding Andrews area)
Basically three routes from there, that a local would use (since we are assuming that the POI are local and know the area):
1) described above, through the old AF base.
2) 17th S to (I believe) Hghy...
mlatta, yep maybe the Andrews area ping was misreported.
RoseC, but there was one reported.
edit: and yes, I see the "path" so MI and PI would be included.
If they searched on the old AF base, sounds like they think that's the route taken.
From S MB, beach road 17 takes you straight across Hghy 17 (actually intersects at a stoplight) through the old AF base to bypass 17, left turn, straight shot down to Georgetown. Possibly the quickest way at...
Yeah I think it goes without saying LE would be way ahead of private citizens. They know far more than we do.
I think the best way we could help is to augment any organized search.
I don't see any harm in riding through the area by car or boat though, I am surely curious to see the areas...
Well, no I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I'll check the website.
As far as boats, I know some area sportsmen. Whether they'd be willing or able, can't say but can ask.
I don't know that area either, really, other than from a vehicle.
edit: will check back here tomorrow.
I am working 10 days in a row starting Wednesday, but would be able to meet up with some of y'all after that if anyone wants to organize it.
Also, I know some folks with boats, who may or may not be willing to help, but can be asked.
Eight four three 4 five 8 five five one 5. Leave...
I don't know jack about cadaver dogs, but will assume their powers are limited to land. I'll assume further, that the boats observing the scene, and searching the banks, were launched elsewhere so probably would not affect those dogs enough to confuse them.
As far as definitively, maybe...
Lol, I am the one that needs smacking. I misread the time posted. Sorry about that.
Anyhow, I have driven the Grand Strand for over 30 years and that travel time from Google maps fits fine.
Just for informational purposes: you cannot get from even the southern most MB city limits to northern Georgetown city limits by car in 20 minutes. Just can't be done, it's something like 35 miles.
Maybe you can get to Murrells Inlet in 20 minutes, which is in the extreme north end of...
I have been down there fishing several times, taking the Intercoastal Waterway from the South Island Ferry landing to the N Santee area but not gone upstream past 17 which is where I think people are talking about. We usually head out the other direction, towards the ocean. On the whole it is a...
