    ID - 4 University of Idaho Students Murdered - Moscow # 37

I can't remember the names of the perpetrators, but this does remind me of the murder of a young woman by male friends of hers while she was house sitting. They videoed the entire event, and did it just for the thrill of killing, saying the wanted to be serial killers.

FL FL - Kingfish Boat Ramp Murders, Holmes Beach, 1 Aug 1980

Coming back to revisit the case. After rereading this thread, and others, I just can't help but think that this was a targeted killing. The theory that it was a thrill kill, or a serial killer does not really fit with the fact that there was a getaway car. i also discount the guy who was said to...

Hi, thanks for posting those photos, that is the first time I have seen them. Easy to see why they were of no real use. W Who did you make the FOIA request to?

I am still puzzled why the photo of the suspect has disappeared without a trace of it anywhere.

Funny enough, my brother was a county commissioner here at the time that episode was produced, and him and his wife are seen in it during a party.

Locke was 18 at the time, and he said he is convinced it was Alan Stanford who he saw walking away after hearing screams. I will try to find a way to ask him about the sports car thing.

I agree that it would be a stretch to think that had anything to do with the murders. I find that highly unlikely to be the motive.

My understanding was that Barrows testified in the case involving Candy Mossler, the woman accused of being involved in the killing of her husband. She had been having an affair with her nephew.

Yes, there is another one about it that I have, "Bloody Sunset in St. Augustine" https://www.amazon.com/Bloody-Sunset-St-Augustine-Story/dp/097879950X There were a lot of strange things happening around here during that time.

I remember this case well, as I am a lifetime resident here. I was 13 years old, and Locke McCormick became a personal friend of mine later and still is to this day. We share the same passion of sports car racing. He has told me in no uncertain terms that it was Alan Stanford who he watched...

Wendy disappeared in April of 1982. I am checking to see if I can find race results from that time to see if he was near there.

FL FL - Kingfish Boat Ramp Murders, Holmes Beach, 1 Aug 1980

It is a very disturbing case. I keep rereading the known facts, as well as the posts here and elsewhere. I still can't understand why the blurry photo taken of the suspect that day have disappeared from public view. Why would that happen, and what is the motivation? I can still find other...

I guess your friend has not mentioned anything the son has said regarding the murders?

It had to be planned in my opinion. Everything points to that, but as you said, why?

I agree. I know I am a new poster, but I have been a lurker here for years. I have too many hobbies! I have always been interested in Florida crimes from the 60's, 70's and 80's. The poster "xgumshoe" is the one that gives me the most pause. What was his motivation to make such a few posts...

I suppose so, but seems like LE would want them out there. If the police were contacted over there, do you think they would release any info to a civilian?

Yes, I would love to know what their theory was, too. Possibly they had some inside knowledge they wanted to get off their chests?

Sleuthster, back in 2008 on this thread you commented that you thought it was strange that xgumshoe came and disappeared so quickly. Do you remember what your thoughts were?
