Where is the exculpatory evidence we were promised?

Plenty of innocent people have been judged guilty. A guilty verdict doesn’t prove anything. Evidence (or lack thereof) is proof. IMO, there is simply not enough evidence of guilt in this case, which is why we still discuss it. Again, I’m hoping that DS’s book will bring some much-needed clarity.

    I've Changed My Opinion

I’ve always said that DE was/is his own worst enemy. It was more understandable when he was a teenager, but, even now, his actions DO NOT make him a murderer.

    WM3 are guilty- Evidence.

I've been absent for a while. Who is this school janitor? Can anyone provide me a link? Is there something on Callly's that I've missed? TIA ETA: Although I'm convinced of the innocence of DE, JB and JM, I am open-minded and would like to know about this person.

    I've Changed My Opinion

DE moved to Salem, MA at one point. I found that disconcerting. He continued to seek attention while the other two did not. His choice of an occupation tends to lend itself to making him less credible, IMO. I still believe that he and the other two are innocent of the murders, but, IMO, DE...

Where is the exculpatory evidence we were promised?

Just want to clarify one thing. In August of 2011, the original verdicts were “set aside” in lieu of the Alford pleas. So, saying that the original verdicts were not overturned is a bit misleading. If the original verdicts weren’t set aside, a new plea could not have been entered. Ask a...

    Viable suspect: James Kenny Martin

I've been away for a while. Just got tired, I guess. However, this janitor interests me! Does anyone know his name?

Where is the exculpatory evidence we were promised?

Sometimes we get impatient. Yeah, I know it's been a while. I'd like the answers, too. However, unfortunately, the ball is in the State of Arkansas' court, so to speak. Until/unless they officially reopen the case, we won't know a damn thing! There's something rotten here, and IMO it stinks...

What time did the kids go missing?

Correct, MM's mom said his sis saw him around 6. SB's mom said he left home (around 4, IIRC) with instructions to be home by 4:30. CB's mom said he was on the carport around 5:30. Witnesses stated they saw the boys enter the woods around 6:30 or 7 (different witnesses). So, take your pick...

why did Misskelly have a trial?

Of course, many of us believed that JM was coerced into "confessing" by LE officials. His IQ is 72, which makes him highly susceptible to manipulation - especially by one in perceived authority over him. With such a low IQ, IMO, it was unethical at least to interview him without an attorney...

    I've Changed My Opinion

*sigh* A lie is a lie, no matter how many times it is asserted. JM, because of his low IQ and youth, told the police a lie, but it was a lie that he thought they wanted to hear - and a lie that they manipulated him into telling which is why he told it. Remember, his original statement was...

    West of Memphis

Unless you have had extensive experience with "troubled" teens, I don't believe your assessment of my ability to understand them is germane. I will readily admit that DE has a psychological disorder of some kind. I suspect either a mild form of autism (causing him to be remote to all but those...

    WM3 are guilty- Evidence.

None of JM's statements are fully supported by the crime scene evidence. By the time of his arrest, the entire community had discussed the case ad nauseum. Much of what he initially told the police was either coerced or gleaned from listening to friends/neighbors discuss the murders. That's...

Viable Suspect: Terry Hobbs - #2

I would hope that, had I been the aunt, I would have come forward. However, I don't know what I would have done in the identical situation. Initially, of course, SB had begged her not to tell. However, after he died, I would have thought that she would have come forward. The only reason that...

May 5, 2015 Rally Arkansas State Capitol Building to Reopen Case and Exonerate the WM

Yeah, the whole "case is closed" thing is a bit of a sticky wicket! If the case is truly closed, why can't the parents see the evidence? If the case isn't closed, what's happening toward solving it? It's so sad because those families deserve closure - all six families!

Summary of Damien's Mental Health History

Here's the problem, IMO, with that logic (taking the Alford plea by DE, JB and JM being indicative of "fear of the evidence" [for lack of a better term]). Alford pleas have generally been entered prior to trial, not post conviction. In fact, I've researched pretty thoroughly and not found one...

    WM3 are guilty- Evidence.

I don't know why I bother, but . . . If one will approach this with an open mind, one will see the truth. The last post was a bunch of NONsense. Not sure which NONsite you were quoting, but I've seen it all before and simply don't buy into those opinions - and that's all you've cited...

    I've Changed My Opinion

One more time, JM's IQ means that he is highly susceptible to "suggestion" - especially from those who he sees as authority figures. Initially, he didn't trust his attorneys and thought they were working for the police. That's why he initially told them the same story he told the police. As...
