wow. I never heard of this case. Granted I was five in 198o, but St Ignace isn't too far from where I grew up. Not to be critical of the UP, but we don't have a great track record of solving murders and missing person cases. So sad for her family and friends-to wonder and worry all these years...

I am watching the daily updates with a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. The UP cases are racking up rapidly and, while the numbers are so "low" compared to downstate they are higher than they have been since the safer at home order in March. We had so many days up here with no cases...

Yooper here. So far we have a handful of positive cases spread across the U.P. This has resulted in many people not taking the stay at home, stay safe order seriously. Fellow Michiganders, how are your respective communities responding to the order?

I live in this area and can attest that the local sentiment is that everyone "knows" who did it but that suspected person will never be charged.
