I'm circling back to something I posted earlier- on the police body cam video, BL mentions heading up to (Oregon) to do some WWOOFING (which I had to look up). Basically it's free room and board, living on someone's farm, you learn how to do organic farming and they give you a place to stay. I...
I am wayy behind (still reading thread #5) so I apologize if this has been brought up already.
I only had time to watch 1/2 of the police body cam, but a few things that BL said that stuck out for me:
1) When asked BL said they were traveling for 4-5 months. They were only travelling since...
I watched only about half of the released police video, and I'm trying hard to keep up with all the posts, but I'm working full time, so it's a challenge. I noticed in the police video that BL mentioned that he does not own a cell phone- anyone else catch that? I thought it was interesting...
That was my first thought, taking off your shoes in a rush to get into the water for a swim, and the inner sole of your shoe popping out. I couldn't think of any other logical reason for the sole of the shoe to be found without the shoe. But then did the swim (if it occurred) happen before or...
I watched the Disappeared episode last night on demand. I missed about 5-10 minutes of it, about 3/4 of the way through, fell asleep and then woke back up at the end.
So if I missed this, let me know- but did they use search dogs to "track" where Rico might have gone? What did the dogs...
I watched the Disappeared episode, and couldn't help but think.....
They showed that David had the antique bricks already in his truck. They mentioned on the show that the bricks were in a pile, partially buried/underground, i.e. difficult to excavate (hence why he only had a few of them). I...
I have thought of the Robert Mayer case also, everything "fine" and then he just disappeared.. I live on LI, and am in the area- I just drove past Patricia's last known place of business Mama's in Centereach- I only drove past the outside of the building, but there were no flyers or anything...
Quick question about DNA- if they were to find DNA under Sarah's fingernails, can they tell if it's male or female DNA even if there is no existing profile for that specific DNA? In other words, that would allow them to know whether they are dealing with a male or female perp- I just wasn't sure.
That's why I mentioned wondering if (strangely enough) Sarah walked into the woods of her own accord- it reminds me of the Nicole Tessa case, who was murdered in the woods, in Patchogue (next town over). It was mentioned in that case that they used this certain area of woods near their homes to...
You weren't argumentative at all, no worries. I just wanted to make sure I didn't come across like I have inside information (I wish I did!) I think sometimes I sound that way because I have thought about this case so much I made myself an honorary member of the detective squad LOLOL
I just figured if she had walked from the car to those woods (for what reason I don't know) that the dogs would pick up her scent, follow it from the car to the woods and find her there. Maybe I'm overestimating the conditions for the dogs to be able to do that. I know a retired police officer...
I guess what I meant was, that the search dogs didn't ultimately find her, the search party did, one of the volunteers. I thought for sure the dogs would be the ones to find her if she was in the area.
I also thought that could be why the search dogs didn't pick up anything.
I.e. the murder happened elsewhere, she was transported in her own car, already deceased, and then put her in the woods- there was no scent to track/follow from the car because the car was driven there after placing the...
Does anyone know, how quickly DNA testing can be done, if they have a suspect in mind? Just in general, what is the fastest they can get DNA results in a case like this to try to expedite an arrest, if DNA was found?
Can they expedite DNA testing, i.e. if anything was found under Sarah's fingernails? That is my biggest hope, that she put up a fight and has DNA material under her nails.
I also wanted to share a website you can use to look up active criminal court cases, i.e. you can search by first and last...
Has anyone read the book "Gone Girl"?
I just finished reading it, and to summarize, a wife goes missing on her 5th wedding anniversary. At one point in the book, husband believes she ran away, and he goes to the media and tells his wife basically "come home, I will keep you safe". Almost a...
I defer to the more senior WS'ers- without the media involved on this case, is there any way to obtain an "update" on the case from LE- in other words, just as a "concerned community member"? Will they give any generic updates such as, we have a person of interest but are not releasing any...
We're not hearing of any investigation done in the garage.
For all we know it has not been searched yet since LE doesn't feel a crime was committed.....
I know about poster mentioned the possibility of foul play being perpetrated in RM's garage. I can think of more than one case where the victim met with foul play in their garage. For example Shirley Reine, from Cape Cod. There is another case, but I can't remember that one as well. Will...
