Many Jewish people changed their last names to something "more American" when the immigrated. Especially those from war torn countries. Many changed their surnames to flee from Europe during WWII. Her parents could have done this as well. Random thoughts.- LucyOso

I agree that many are looking over their shoulders. Sadly, many will also get away with it. Sounds like a fluke the baby was found. We don't know if she thought she was "free and clear".
