Sorry...have to disagree a bit. We do have a way to keep them safe from binge drinking...alcohol is illegal for anyone under 21. You are considered a legal adult at 18 capable of making adult decisions. If you choose to drink before 21, you are breaking the law. After 18 you are a legal adult...

Going try to be an optimist here...lots has changed in terms of DNA evidence, digital device tracking, etc. in the past 15 years. I really believe that will help bring an answer for LS's parents.

Interesting...just had my 3 year old daughter snuggle up on the couch with me while I was looking at the link. She touched face/picture #1 and said "he looks like a scary bad guy." (Of course, she followed that up with Spiderman is real, so the poll is very unscientific.) I just thought it is...

Sadly, my guess is that they are going to announce they are going to go home but continue to be in close contact with local LE and continue to plead for help/info from her friends.

I wondered about that option. IMO someone wanting to be anonymous would not use it. After all, mail has postmarks indicating where a letter was mailed from. Not really all that anonymous in my mind.:waitasec:

Go Dad!! That's awesome that he reacted like that to protect his daughter. Good for both of you for having that kind of relationship with your daughter that she would tell you about it, too! :yourock:

Very true. Wouldn't they need a search warrant for that, which would require probable cause? I wonder if being the last person to see her would give LE probable cause. So frustrating!!:banghead: I have been in the accidental OD/friends know something camp all along. Now I am wondering if...

Ugh. In my experience, college kids tend to have many, many body fluid stains around their places. How could LE prove they came from LS or someone else?

I'd pay a lot of $$ to install something like that on my kids...

I agree that LE spoke with him at the beginning. They probably spoke with tons of people asking generic questions about that night and LS. The question is...when they came up with more questions for him and others later on in the investigation, did he (they) volunteer to answer them? IMO he...

I think we have debated and discussed many angles here over the past 3 weeks, many of which did not include any of her friends. The thing is, when all other leads and info start drying up and the parents are saying friends need to come forward and the media reports certain people are not...

JR (or any of the others) could alleviate a bunch of the pressure on himself and his family/friends by speaking up. He could go to LE. His attorney could hold a press conference. He could cooperate so openly that LS's parents could publicly acknowledge him as being helpful in the...

Very true. And they may not be that skilled -- just may be "lucky" (not really what I mean but couldn't think of another way to describe it). After all, this time of year they have nature on their side. Lots of scavenger animals in the wilderness this time of year, plus really heavy rains and...

Maybe because the sighting was actually the witness seeing another girl and guy who are completely unrelated to the case and LE does not want to drag them into the mix if they are completely unrelated to the case? An intoxicated blond in a white shirt and dark pants could be pretty common at...

Still wondering how quickly these East Coast POIs left town and how. If the bag with her in it was stashed in the car, the drive to home is at least 7 or 8 hours, if not more. That drive is very rural and not highly trafficked. Pull over somewhere between here and home, walk 20 feet into the...

Getting kicked out could have been as easy as she tried to order a drink at the bar and the bartender knew/realized she was not 21 or checked her fake ID and told her to get out.

So much is being made of her lost shoes, lost phone, lost keys and wallet. To me, that doesn't mean much other than that she was intoxicated in some way at some point during the night. As a former college party kid (20 years ago), it was not uncommon for us to kick off our shoes to dance...

Hope I do this correctly...I'm new. I think one (or more) of the boys knows what happened. I think it was an accidental heart attack brought on by a big night of partying or an assault of some kind. She is a small girl. Put her in a trash bag, load that in a duffle bag, suitcase with wheels...
