Found Deceased NY - John Castic, 27, getting an Uber after leaving the Mirage venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, 29 July 2023

Super harsh. The surveillance footage of him in the DM doesn’t look like a man who was intoxicated enough to walk into a creek.

Agree. Men or women, don’t let your friends leave a venue alone, full stop.

I understand they don’t want the publicity but it’s a shame that the Mirage hasn’t posted about it/ asked for anyone who may have seen him etc to help aid the investigation. That group would obviously be the target audience that might have info.

Found Alive AL - Carlethia “Carlee” Russell, 25, 911 call reported toddler walking on side of interstate, car found, she & toddler gone, Birmingham, 13 Jul ‘23

So if it wasn’t an abduction, let’s work through the other options. If it was a psychotic break, do we assume she ran into the woods and killed herself? Wouldn’t she be found quite quickly?

I worked with this man. No indication at all that he could be an evil person. It’s all just too shocking,

    LA - ***ARREST*** Mickey Shunick, 21, Lafayette 19 May 2012 - #33

Hi everyone- I've been obsessively lurking on this thread since Mickey disappeared. Like everyone else, my heart hurts over the recent turn of events. Just wanted to throw in my two cents about the definition of "kidnapping," as I just graduated law school and am currently studying for the...

If anyone finds interesting threads, please post them. I'm computer illiterate and have trouble navigating the "operator" site. I even tried googling "site: operatorchan.org SoL" as someone suggested, but it's not working for me.

In regards to the first link (where he discusses that you're only justified in using deadly force on someone if you were in fear for your life): Good lord, he thinks he's so special, "impressing" all of these people with a general concept we learned the first week in crim law.:banghead: Also...

I have nothing productive to add to the conversation, minus that I'm absolutely sickened by his posts. He makes my skin crawl. I am creeped out that I walked the same halls every day with this soulless creep.

I would think that too, if it weren't for how much importance her family places on having her entire body recovered (as I know most families would).

I mean, clearly child *advertiser censored* is illegal and would land him in jail. I was just thinking, if McD possibly thought he was already sunk on the murder charge and just didn't want the child *advertiser censored* to come to light (who knows, we already know that the kid has twisted logic) could maybe strike a deal. I...

Another reason that McD might've known Patterson's name so well could be because of McD's internship at the DA's office. It would seem likely that various detective's drop by the DA's office often or are used at witnesses in a DA's cases. Maybe he's came in contact w/ Patterson before and that's...

We're given those lanyards and flashdrives when we start at Mercer Law. Definitely not the intended use for that little present....geez. Completely not relevant, but it just creeps me out that the same flashdrive that he probably brought to school for class projects, etc. housed such despicable...

http://definitions.uslegal.com/o/on-or-about/ This link gives a decent explanation. It appears to be used as a safety net so that the whole document won't be considered defective if the date is later changed.

If you're referring to the language "on or about," it is a pretty typical legal term, kind of boiler-plate esque. You'll find it in most legal docs, even if the exact date is known (from what I've seen, anyways.)

Weird! I've never heard of Probate Self. I think Tilman is the only Self whose handled anything so far in this case, though.

    GUILTY GA - Lauren Giddings, 27, Macon, 26 June 2011 # 9

Snipped for space. That is correct, Self is a Superior Court Judge. Unless it's said elsewhere in the news, another Superior Court Judge (probably Judge Christian, who gets most major felony cases) might handle the commitment hearing. I don't think the case will necessarily have to stick with...
