It appears that way to me also. One other possible though....perhaps they are trying to see just how much time he actually spent away from Ayla during the period of time he had her. Since he went to the trouble to get the police to go get her, LE might not be greatly impressed if he was leaving...

If Ayla was gone long before that night, then at least Courtney would have known she was not in the house that night, so she would know that much at least.

I agree that they are tracking movement, and especially in regard to.... if Ayla was with him. I understand this was 2am in the morning so she probably wasn't with him, but I think they have looked for any sightings of either Ayla or Justin in the days before.

Did you notice in the statement the word If very carefully worded. They did not say they did a background check. They are aware many people in the public read quickly and look for only what they want to see, instead of what is really being said or not being said. "If we are placing a child...

Apparently DHHS does speak out---sort of----at least enough to try and persuade the public they are innocent. See their response below A DHHS official would not comment on Ayla's case Monday, citing the department's strict confidentiality rules, but confirmed the agency's policies before...

Yes this is the US..... not exactly sure why you ask that question. If it was because I used the word order in the post. That is the exact same word that MSM used in reporting on the Logan Marr case where a Maine DHHS case worker adopted a child that had been taken from a Mother. The DHHS case...

I believe at the very least they need to do a check on the house and the residents in the house. After all an accident or worse happened there. If DHHS sees no reason to take Gabby from Elisha, I believe they have every obligation to order her to move from that unsafe house and to stay away from...

It has been 2 months. 2 months..and no one from that house has given a sensible explanation for what happened that night. Could she possibly be doing this to keep Ayla in the news, to put pressure on someone to talk? If you notice this story seems to drop from the news until she releases...

Like you I have also been researching Maine DHHS and found the case of Logan Marr. One article is here and there are several others. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/fostercare/marr/ According to what I have read this case caused Maine to reevaluate their system. After the DHHS...

I also wish we had the full, unbridled truth from Justin and those in the house that night. Then we, or more importantly LE could sort this out.

You make a good point. I wish we had an attorney or someone who knows the law in Maine to tell us what the proper procedure would be when Jessica refused. I used what little I have read of Maine's law and what happens in my own state as basis for that post. In my state I am about 99% sure...

I have tried looking at this from all the angles I can think of to determine if DHHS did err in their involvement in this case. These are the angles I have come up with so far. 1----If Trista's, Becca, or Jessica's home was unsafe and DHHS needed to remove a child, they erred in not...

I agree! Reunification is not and will not work in many of these cases, when will they realize that? Many people defend them with they are over worked and understaffed. IMO the reunification policy is the reason they are so over worked and understaffed. They are spinning their wheels, getting no...
