I hope she's safe and warm somewhere.
It's a relatively small wooded area near her home, and I expect if she were in the woods she would have been found. It's a short walk to the Winooski River, though.
It sounds like she may have taken her purse. I think LE has probably already checked with...
Oh, hurray! This news has absolutely made my weekend!
Allison, hang in there and be true to yourself. Things may seem overwhelming sometimes, but it will work out. You'll see.

This is too sad to contemplate.
RIP, Beauty.
How interesting about a look alike spotted on remote Maine highways! That's certainly bizarre. I'd love to know what highways.
Alleykins, I do think it's possible her brother had a hand in her disappearance. The investigators were quick to rule out homicide, but don't state why. I'm not...
Yes, it's in the N magazine article linked in the first post. Very comprehensive article! I'd gladly relink it but I'm on a tablet. Do read it, though!
Yes, certainly. Many, many of the homes on the island are vacant in the winter. It's possible she could have hid in one briefly.
Although the investigators didn't seem to think much of it I am quite concerned about the blood evidence found on the wall, baseboard and floor of her bedroom and...
I'm sure it's dark in Dorset by now, and the search must be finished - for the day, at least. I choose to take no news for good news.
It dawned on me that if the driver's seat in the car were slid back as though a taller person were last driving it probably the police would not have called out...
Although it was many years ago and I no longer live nearby I write as someone who has spent many happy hours at both Bennington College and the Dorset Quarry.
Greenmountainguy, we probably know each other. For the record, I disagree with your take on the Vermont State Police.
I think it's...
Welcome, tlar!
I hope you'll love Scottsdale, and thrive there. I wouldn't worry too, too much about your safety as LE seems to regard Allison's homicide as not random. Just always exercise reasonable caution, as I'm sure you do already.
It's quiet on the thread because there is no news. At...
Yes, I agree that hired gun is pretty unlikely, given the PD's stance that Allison was acquainted with her killer. Also, it's only my opinion, but I think that hired killers typically make a neater job of it. What we know about the scene speaks of emotional involvement to me.
Spurned...
So, that whole sentence about the bad guy being caught on video at 1:05 is opinion?
For some reason I have been accepting it as fact. Note to self: links! Links! Links! How many times have we all read that here?
In any case, I'm still thinking that if the actor were someone in Allison's...
Basing my thought on
- Apparently, Allison opened her door to the person who killed her
- The brutality of her killing
- The lame attempt to clean up with bleach
- The remorse indicated by Allison's head having been covered afterward
I speculate that the perpetrator may be a neighborhood...
