Nope - my original post was not that local men would be jealous of him, I'm afraid. I said some of them might or could have been jealous of him because of what they preceived his situation to be. There's a vast difference in meaning between would , might and could, if one goes to the finer...

Aha...exactly! And that was my original point, wasn't it! If he acted like a 'Mr Big', he no doubt was perceived as being 'big' by a lot of people. After all, how much does one really know about a neighbour's 'finances' unless they are privy to the bank statements and bills, etc. No doubt GBC...

Nope, not convinced by what you say - sorry! Being a Mr Rich Guy and owning a Merc / BMW / Ferrari doesn't necessarily mean you are really attractive to the ladies I'm afraid...unless they're after your dosh of course! I've never met GBC, but, if (being so hard-up financially compared with his...

A link to what?? The Lexus story has been told in several CM articles (and no, I don't have those links to hand - but they have all been posted on this site previously).

Well, it has been written in a CM article that she 'suddenly gave up ballet despite being so talented and successful in that field'. Perhaps there was some medical problem with her bones??

Well, the body was actually inadvertently found by a passing canoeist, not the police or any of their searchers. The reality is that the police were nowhere near Kholo Bridge, nor had they been, as far as I know. Did they have tracker dogs on Day 1? I don't know the answer to this but, if...

'...they look as if...' - doesn't mean that they do, nor am I saying that they 'do' (...worship the ground he walks on).

If he had a way with the ladies then no doubt a lot of the guys would have been a bit jealous of him - and, until recently, he drove a LEXUS and appeared to 'have it all' (ie, the Good Life). This perception would have been enough to bring activate the Tall Poppy Syndrome in many.

Could also be that the police are way wide of the mark. How long did it take them to get Daniel Morecomb's killer? Ten years?

But, on the other hand, maybe not so wild. There could have been someone lurking around (I'm referring to the nearby neighbour's dog that went uncharacteristically crazy and tore down the back yard that night). I think that what you have suggested could be a viable scenario.

I have yet to see any statement other than on this website that confirms that there actually was an AVO involved re the GBC household. Does anyone have any FACTUAL evidence of this that they can provide?

In all the pics of GBC and his daughters that I have seen, they look as if they worship the ground he walks on.

Always good to try and think 'outside the box' as well as 'inside it' Minni! Some of mankind's greatest inventions have been discovered by people who were able and willing to do just that.

Nope - I'm not throwing my lot in with 'the majority' on this one. Why should I?! I have never met the guy myself, so I remain just as open to the outcome of the police investigations regarding GBC as I do to their investigations into anyone else who may be in their hare sights. P.S. Famous...

Interesting observation - it really backs up what a friend of mine who had met in at several functions had to say about finding him 'delightful' (a point which, earlier, caused an indignant flurry of posts!). She, too, had the gut feeling that he wouldn't be up to it (for want of a better phrase).

True - but, if 'the stalker' was someone who did know ABC (and was a colleague/friend/lover/business connection/'rejected' would-be paramour, local community member, etc, etc), the police might be aware of this. To my way of thinking, a stalker usually (or very often) has a particular 'target'...
