Not sure how this works on the newest models. Back in 2008 or so there used to be a fuse for the "Driver Information Center" that would cut power to OnStar. Also not sure if OnStar was the only thing that got cut off when this fuse was pulled.
As noted earlier, even with the fuse disconnected...
OnStar is owned by GM and built into virtually all of their models now. I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado and even back in 2008 I could not buy a GM truck without it. And, I had no choice but to take the "free" 6-months trial service also.
I refused to renew my "free" service when the 6-month trial...
I scoured the Kpel website and facebook pages and couldn't even find a hint of this interview.

Yes, definately need to be careful. Whitepages.com shows several Brandon Lavergnes in Louisiana as well as a few in Texas, and one in Missouri. I feel for these (other) guys!
