If you go around the corner, about a 1/2 mile away, my great aunt was struck by a car so hard and off the road that she was thrown well into a nearby cornfield and our relatives did not find her body for some time (by then it was too late) . Around 1979-1980. She was a child caregiver...
I just stumbled across this post and realized you're talkin about the body (the man) my grandfather found in his Valley at the house where I'M LIVING RIGHT NOW. I had forgotten about that. It was creepy because my mother and my grandfather and others walked right by there weekly if not daily...
I just saw one of the pictures (but it's blurred around the underwear- so you can't at all tell if it his him), but now I can't find it. He has soiled underwear in his mouth. I think he was also wearing womens clothes, but I didn't look that close.
Maybe that area was the focus in the beginning, it was already thoroughly searched over and over, so they want to try a different area now (one that just happens to be an area that points more to Dad as a participant)?
To answer the "what would you ask the family or LE you could ask them a question", mine would be 'what does dad's cell phone record look like?' To support Mark's story, it would have to be on when Dylan is not by his side and it would have to match where he said he traveled.
If it was...
I thought someone posted was previously charged with drunk driving, and alcohol was mentioned in the incident in 2008. I think it's also likely that the "child neglect" charge was related to alcohol (I think Dylan was maybe 5ish?).
Does Elaine say that Mark is an alcoholic or accuse him of...
I know we all want care about Dylan alot, and want to believe worst case scenario is that Dylan was a little crabby at being tired - which is completely reasonable and probable in my mind..
But there is the possibility that it went farther than that on his end. He's swung at Dad before when...
I think it's safe to assume the phone was fully charged before Dylan got on the plane - as mom was careful to give him a cell phone and probably would have checked that. but it could have a weak battery, so that doesn't mean it held charge long.
but if Dylan arrived around 6:00 or 6:30...
That was one of the things that makes me suspicious - the fact that MR doesn't seem to suspect anyone in Elaine's family. I'd immediately consider the possibility that someone was overreacting to how much Dylan didn't want to go there, and maybe took and hid him for the duration of the trip...
I don't know if this is significant, but Hess said she though Dylan arrived at 6 or 6:30. If you factor in getting baggage, going to mcdonalds and Walmart in downtown durango (?), grocery shopping, and travel it seems like a tight fit to get home by the time his phone goes dead by 8.
I think...
I'll buy that as possible IF Mark doesn't have any of the far away friend's numbers in his phone. If he does, I don't buy that Mark drives more than 35-55 minutes from home (most of that being between Vellicito and Bayfield) to "look" for Dylan verses call first.
I have a hard time believing...
Dylan is 13. Not some child you can just accidentally misplace. Nor a child you need to lie about misplacing in Walmart.
I think this Hess person doesn't really know much of anything. Multiple reports said they've been in court for 7 years, months at a time, with few breaks. People who...
If you are looking for hard evidence to show mark did something, or prove it in court, you aren't going to find it here.
But if you are looking for clues that make all the other possibilities far less likely:
1. Phone goes dead at 8pm, and never gets turned back on - even to check text...
I do have something - the boys said they Dylan would probably not be afraid to hitchhike. I've ruled this out personally in my head for other reasons (I listed previously in detail) but they did say that. And there was the one person who saw someone "flee" at some point.
Now that I think...
No clear details have really been released about the clothing. What I got was that there were clothes tucked behind the couch when Mark got home.
The wording I read was something like LE suspected Dylan was wearing the same clothes in the picture when he disappeared - but they have not said...
I agree. I've been personally desperately searching for every little shrivel of evidence that points to the possibility that Dylan was not harmed by his father. I'm just struggling to find anything, at all. Every day I start out hopeful, and another bit of information comes out that smashes...
I would assume Mark wasn't shown in any photos because LE didn't want to spark wild speculation about the expressions on his face, or what was in his cart, or anything like that. You can't tell anything from most of these online pictures. People can say "black eye", "crying", "scowling"...

He picks up Dylan, who is "happy" according to Mark (i.e. wouldn't run away because he was "happy") at 6ish.
Dylan is very overtired but excited to hookup with his friends later.
At just after 7, he texts his mom that he arrived.
Mark decides they need to go to walmart, food...
