long weekend break: discuss the latest here #101

Thanks, very interesting experiment indeed. First I would like to clarify, the much larger and stronger victim versus the smaller weaker attacker without regard to gender. The only other question about your experiment would be, are you allowed to knock out or kill the girl with the paint brush...

long weekend break: discuss the latest here #101

Thank you, I am enjoying reading all of your thoughts. DW has been here for years so I have been a WS widower for a long time lol!

long weekend break: discuss the latest here #101

Thanks for the response, just to be clear I don't believe one word of JAs character assasination of TA. I haven't heard anyone else who ever knew him say he was violent in any way. But anyone when cornered and attacked would rightfully defend themselves. Think of it this way, the unbelievable...

long weekend break: discuss the latest here #101

Thanks, very true no ropes in the pictures. Also no .25 cal pistol in pictures either. Restraint can be accomplished in other ways too such as gun point. Just a curiosity of the physical evidence versus the testimony.

long weekend break: discuss the latest here #101

Thanks, I agree completely, that's the point I was making. The gunpoint represents restraint same as a rope would. It also removes any possibility of self defense. If she was restraining him to facilitate the attack then she murdered him plain and simple.

long weekend break: discuss the latest here #101

Thanks for the response. In what way are the heights and weights wrong? Also I realize some think there were no ropes including my wife. The testimony says there was albeit from the lying defendant. If there were ropes, why would she take only them and the gun from the scene?

long weekend break: discuss the latest here #101

Hope no one minds, just wanted some insight on this, moved over from end of last thread. I haven't been able to watch all of the trial. I have a question that maybe some of you can help me with. I am pretty much the same height and weight as TA but 20 years older. I can think of no way a 115...

trial day 35: the defense continues its case in chief #100

I haven't been able to watch all of the trial. I have a question that maybe some of you can help me with. I am pretty much the same height and weight as TA but 20 years older. I can think of no way a 115 pound female could stab me 29 times unless I was physically restrained. After the first...

trial day 32: the defense continues its case in chief #93

I still can't help but wonder if this defense was built around Samuels' theories. He was on the team during the "Ninja" defense. He said that he and Nurmi confronted JA about her Ninja story and was stopped by the DT from completing his comment. IMO, PTSD and battered woman self defense theory...

trial day 31: the defense continues it's case in chief #87

Just a few observations from today. First, crime scene analysis is often used, but to testify to the physical mechanics supported by the physical evidence. I have never seen a crime scene analysis to determine what the killer was thinking when the crime was committed. Second, JM said there was...

100 questions from the jury: Arias answering on her 16th day on the stand #75

I read a post earlier about the sound of the gun blast. As I understand it, the majority of the deafening noise heard when a firearm is discharged is a sonic boom caused by the muzzle velocity of the projectile exceeding the sound barrier. A standard .25 caliber pistol cartridge only has a...

100 questions from the jury: Arias answering on her 16th day on the stand #74

Also interesting that once she had first hand experience with how ineffective a .25 caliber is at stopping a man she bought a 9mm, hmmmmm.

100 questions from the jury: Arias answering on her 16th day on the stand #74

I think the jury is questioning her on her testimony alone. I also believe the ME, it looks like they are just punching holes in her version of the events much the same as JM did.

100 questions from the jury: Arias answering on her 16th day on the stand #74

Interesting insight. I own guns, always have. If I take a gun on a camping trip it is first to protect against wildlife like a snake. Secondly to protect against a criminal stranger who might see an opportunity to someone out in the woods. I have never taken a gun anywhere to protect myself from...

Armchair Psych discussion of Jodi Arias

I have seen a lot of comments about JA demeanor on the stand. Smiling, laughing and crying. Some say fake, sometimes seemingly inappropriately timed. It seems to me that she is responding to her verbal combat with JM. When she thinks she got over on him she smiles. When she thinks she really...

jodi arias TAKES THE STAND FOR 13TH DAY #62 *may contain graphic and adult content*

Here's what I don't understand. If JA is the only living witness to testify, and she can't remember killing him, how does she know it's self defense? How does she know he wasn't running away from her for help after the gunshot and before he was killed? No one including her has testified that he...

jodi arias TAKES THE STAND FOR 13TH DAY #62 *may contain graphic and adult content*

A judge appearing on HLN explained that in AZ self defense is an affirmative defense. Since you are admitting killing another human being, the burden has been shifted to you to prove a legal cause. Since there is no other witness available to testify to the self defense claim, the defendant must...
