Birna's cause of death was drowning. She was alive when she was dumped into the sea. There are also marks of strangulation around her neck. Haven't found a link in English yet, will post when I find one.
Here's a poem written in her memory.
Alone, you our daughter you dwelled
in the sound...
Birna's funeral was held today at Hallgrímskirkja, the largest church in Iceland. It was attended by her family and friends and many other people who wanted to say their goodbyes. Her place of work was closed today so her coworkers could attend. The president and first lady of Iceland, Guðni Th...
If you click on the following link you can see a video from the memorial march that was held in Birna's honour yesterday. About 8,000 people in Reykjavík attended and it was held in other places around the island too. They walked from Hlemmur, a bus station at the end of Laugavegur to Laugavegur...
This is the tribute that was held in Greenland. It was really beautiful and just shows how this senseless crime has affected both nations.

DV.is, an online newspaper has published the identities of the two men in custody. It is illegal since they haven't been charged with anything but it's been on site for hours. No other media outlet has their identities on their site.
They're also claiming that Birna's ID was found on board but...
Just quoting myself cause I can't edit. There were 400 people at the vigil in Nuuk. And the bolded was supposed to be Icelandic consulate, not consult.

Between 200 and 300 people came together in front of the Icelandic consult in Nuuk, Greenland to pay their respects to Brina Brjánsdóttir. The crime has deeply affected the 56,000 inhabitants of Greenland, the country the two suspects are from especially since Greenland and Iceland are...
I think it must've been touched upon in one of the articles posted here but the police have said that the men can be seen in the downtown area at the same time as Birna, but they did not say if they were seen at the same club.

The drinking age in Iceland is 20. You can't buy or consume alcohol legally before that age.
Húrra, where Birna was last seen, is a small live music venue. They have been very present on social media getting information about the search out to their followers.
There's almost nothing in...
They aren't giving anything away as of now but they did say it was most likely that she was dumped in the ocean and that the body washed up where it was found.
There is no way she was dumped anywhere near Reykjavík or Hafnarfjörður. The currents would never have brought her around the peninsula...
This picture is better, it shows the roads more clearly. It's taken from a Faroese news media site.

ETA: An Icelandic news site finally put up a map. The different colors show the different routes to the beach where the body was...
The red dot is where the body was found. The Greater Reykjavík area, where she went missing, is on the directly opposite end of the peninsula. They drove quite a way.

I'm shaking. I am so angry and sad and overwhelmed right now.
I just don't understand this.

Her body has been found on a beach according to police. A helicopter reported the find. I was so taken aback that I didn't hear where.
Police say that they think she was murdered. They think she was put in the sea and that the body washed up on the beach.
The press conference is still going...
New clues have been found. The search parties have been called back to their bases and the search is being reorganized.

One of the two men in custody is also suspected to be involved with the drugs that were found onboard.

DNA found in the red Kia Rio the police confiscated confirmed to be Birna's. Hopefully the two men will start talking now.
It is still not known if this is the same car that was seen on security cameras in downtown...
