There’s a cold case from July 1999, a gay man called Mark Dribin who disappeared from Portland Oregon. All signs point to foul play from someone he was involved with. He used to frequent The Eagle (which is a leather bar) so it might fit the MO of the perpetrator (he liked submissive men.)

As I say it’s a long shot because I don’t know all the background info but I wanted to put it out there. I feel like he probably didn’t start in the last 10 years and I wonder if he hadn’t started killing many decades back.

I don’t mean any upset (as I know his family member used to post here) but I felt like I should put it out there at least.

Thanks for posting, had Mark Dribin the back of my mind and meant to check out his thread- because BM was known to travel a great deal and LE are apparently casting a wide net as far as possible victims go.
Also, many people travel to Toronto and elsewhere for Pride Parades around the globe.
imo, speculation.
ETA noting that Mark D went missing on the 4th of July long weekend.

This is what we know surrounding the disappearance of Kalon David Purvis:

"Kalon Purvis had been living and working in the Minden area since early May 2008. He had been involved in a car accident on June 19, 2008 resulting in him needing to use a rental car. The small red rental car was returned sometime in July. Mr. Purvis was last seen in July 2008 when he was dropped off in the area of the Home Hardware store in Minden to meet someone he was going to do some work for, for two weeks. Mr. Purvis would have had a large male dog (Rottweiler) named Magnum with him around the time of his disappearance."

What strikes me is that just before he disappeared, he was said to have been heading to meet someone for whom he was going to work for two weeks. I am inferring the work may have involvd possible construction or landscaping work since he was meeting the person at a hardware store?

We have had people who have come to Toronto in the past and theyve called us and passed on some information that were following up on, Det. Sgt. Hank Idsinga told reporters Wednesday afternoon.

He said he couldnt get into the specifics of the reports, but said its a possibility some of the people may have dated McArthur.

When asked if police feared there are bodies in other places or if there are people who travelled to Toronto and didnt return home, Idsinga said, Both situations would be something we would be looking at.

I wonder if there's any connection to this disappearance. Brian was last seen in the Oshawa area in 1994...I know Bruce Mcarthur lived in Oshawa at the time

Zelalem ASSEFA was last seen in Calgary, Alberta on May 21, 2008 while visiting relatives. Zelalem is from Ethiopia and had only been in Canada for about a year and a half when he disappeared.
