How could I have missed this monster? I cannot tell you how bad I feel when one gets past my notice. This name needs to be out there.

Biby amassed this amount of child and paraphernalia while under supervision???? Oooh. I can just hear our former member, kbl, having a fit over this one.

"A 46-year-old registered sex offender who allegedly kept child in his Fullerton home was charged today with possessing child and sexual exploitation of a child. Vaughn Robert Biby was arrested at his home in the 2000 block of West Houston Avenue on Thursday evening, when officers making a check of sex offenders found "tens of thousands'' of pieces of child ...."

May I ask a question? Many people argue that child "snuff" films are an urban legend. I'm assuming that LE actually has these in their possession as the DA refers to them. They're real?? The man pleaded guilty to possessing them. I don't see anything about them being anything but the real thing. I wonder if this "find" will inform those who believe that they don't exist?

While doing research for something i read about here on WS's i ran across an online website of child snuff stories aqnd child rape stories.... there isn't enough bleach in the world for my eyes after i saw that.........

Peeples--Was it research about the "snuff films" or some sort of ad for them? I'd really appreciate any scholarly/investigative info about the existence of these films.

So, doesn't this case beg the question.....where are those victims? Who are they? Where was the created? When? Do they match up with any missing boys we're looking for? These films are one of the darkest secrets. Isn't it time to shine the light on them?

I've wondered if the policy changes brought about by Jaycee had anything to do with a full investigation of this guy or was it just chance?

This guy is haunting me. I went back and checked and it surely could have been some shake up due to Jaycee which caused the inspection of Biby's house and computers. Jaycee was rescued in August 2009 and Biby was arrested in March 2010. Biby's arrest predated the official policy reforms but no doubt other CA parole offices were tightening up their supervision after the debacle of Garrido. I still think that this is a "legacy" of Jaycee's.

I want to know more about the magazines, books and films which portray torture and murder. I believe that LE has a responsibility to validate that this level of evil abuse of children does indeed exist. There are far too many people who believe that this is merely an urban legend and LE doesn't do much to change the public perception. Unless you were really paying attention to the articles about Biby (or you are a WSer), I doubt you'd catch the comment about "books and Internet print-outs on torture, rape and murder of children". I almost wish they'd used the more commonly recognized term, "snuff films" or "snuff magazines".

This really frightens me. Did they determine just who these little victims were?

This is from 2000 but extremely pertinent to this discussion, I believe. So, 3000 being shipped to Italy ALONE. God help us. It doesn't look as if Kuznetsov did a day in jail, either. He was released due to overcrowding. Where is the man today? What happened to the list of thousands of names? The only person jailed, Dmitri Ivanov, who participated in the abuse and murders, got 11 years. He'd be out.

Actually, once I had Dmitri’s full name I found an abundance of information on him. After the initial sting there was a long, full investigation that was in the press quite a bit, especially for Italy and Britain. Italy even had a large scandal and public discussion about whether to make all the subject matter open to the public. This was all censored from the American public. I only found one American publication that even mentioned the case, though it was in the European major papers for over a year.

As far as I know, this is the first “reported” account, but it was never called a “Snuff Film” as a direct statement. We know that child was being perpetrated and that one of the offenders was convicted of killing and then it was released that the child was recorded when it died. However, these facts are always mentioned separate from one another. It’s like saying that cigarettes contain a certain element, and then that certain element is proven to be a carcinogen, and it’s proven that carcinogens cause cancer. But to avoid the simple statement that cigarettes cause cancer one can keep these facts separate and seemingly unrelated. So, it was never officially accounted as a bonafied Snuff Film but all the elements seem to be there to make up the compound. You dig?"
