January 18, 1989, Eula Miller and her two children, Tenisha and DeMarcus, ages 6 and 9, were found shot to death in their home. The case was initially ruled a murder-suicide, but police now believe all three victims were murdered.

Eula and her two children lived in Knoxville, Tennessee in one of the worst parts of town. Eula was a nurse, but could not work due to the high cost of daycare. She could barely make ends meet and became suicidal, according to her family. She asked her uncle if she could borrow his gun, but he refused because he knew she was depressed. She also told family that she was afraid of her ex-boyfriend. He and the ex-husband were both ruled out as the killer.

Shortly after Eula and her children were shot, someone called police and said three people were dead inside a house in the Western Heights housing project. It is unknown who made this call. When police arrived, they found Eula and her two children lying in the same bed, each dead from one gunshot wound. A gun was never found. A window had been broken from the outside.

No one has ever been arrested for tjot nearly 30-year old triple murder.

Theory #1: If Eula shot her children and then committed suicide, where was the gun? Did someone break in through the window, find the bodies, and steal the gun? If so, why steal the gun and risk implicating oneself?

Theory #2: Eula and her children were shot during a burglary. According to relatives, there was nothing to steal except food stamps, which were not taken.

Theory #3: Eula's obsessed, abusive ex-boyfriend was the killer. Police ruled him out, as well as the ex-husband.

Theory #4: Eula hired someone to kill her and her children. According to relatives, Eula had no money to hire someone.

Theory #5: Eula saw something she wasn't supposed to see. A lot of bad things happened in Western Heights housing project. Perhaps she had given police information about a drug ring.
