From this link: http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/06/kyron_hormans_stepmom_terri_mo.html

A report on Fox TV today saying that the stepmom and dad of Kyron Horman had separated is not true, according to the stepmom, Terri Moulton Horman.

Approached at her home in Northwest Portland, Horman said her husband Kaine Horman and 18-month-old daughter Kiara have not moved out as Fox reported.

"Everything's good," she said. "We heard that rumor. It's just a rumor that needs to be squelched. Everything's fine."

Thanks for that update..I guess she would know, however I do have a problem with her thinking everything is good and everything is fine considering a child she has raised has not been seen or heard of in over three weeks now...How can anything be good or fine even IF you and your husband are not separated..JMO

So on the face of it...we have story that was attributed to Friends of Terri...being denied by Terri...

Pretty much! :banghead:

This is most likely the reason for the statement to be released by MCSO, in my opinion....Just when I thought there may finally be a breakthrough or actual new information. So frustrated. Kyron deserved answers and resolution - and most of all to be found!!!!!

All the same, I can't understand this just being rumor - if confirmed by Larry Moulton. Friends, well, yeah. Rumors....But her own father?

But a defense attorney could surely use all of this against prosecution, couldn't they, if they end up with a confession under these kinds of circumstances? What is "under duress" more than having your baby taken away from you while you are being questioned in a possible murder of another child? I just hate to think LE is doing this to "break" her. It does not sit right with me, and sounds like some other country, not here.

The police didn't take away her child, assuming the child has been taken away. Besides, police use all kinds of tactics to get confessions. Often times they are successful. So long as it's not illegal, why wouldn't they use it?

Grandpa is a headline writer's dream and Terri's worst nightmare...for the second time today, I'm feeling sorry for TH...

OMG...so they've cut Terri loose!

"We have been fully briefed by law enforcement on the on-going criminal investigation. We are in complete support of that investigation. We have asked the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office to facilitate releasing this statement for us due to their access to the media/flash news.
We understand that we have free access to the media but are limiting statements to the media to keep the integrity of the investigation intact.
Any actions taken by the investigation, or by us, are based on the best interests of Kyron and Kiara and comply with the law. Beyond this, we have no comment on the matter.
Desiree, Tony and Kaine"

For anyone who can't open this for some reason, the statement...

I think we can move statement discussion to the family statement thread now that it's been released.

Also, NG discussion can go to the NG thread.

(Sorry for directing traffic, but just trying to be helpful, not bossy.)

I know, but the confession could also be tossed by a judge if deemed to be taken under duress...it has happened before. I just hope if LE is putting all their eggs in this one basket, they have some other evidence to back up any possible confession.

Though Nancy doesn't appear to be covering any new ground... I find it interesting in light of today's "developments" that as someone who hasn't focused on this case, she is not only covering it tonight, but covering it live.

Well, ain't that something? TH's name not on the bottom of that.

Yep, something is definitely going on with Terri.

Yep is right!! To leave Terri's name off that statement when it included the stepfathers name is really saying something.

it is on the other thread...opened for all to see and pretty grim in tone.

I think the "patch of unmowed grass" is meant to describe the place, and is kind of sad since grass grows quite a bit in a month's time. The sign "welcome to the nut house" bothers me though for some reason. It's not too fitting for a place where little kids live I suppose, IMO.

Edited to add: I'm slow, but think finally got that nuthouse may be due to rdsquirrel. Now I noticed though that the baby wandered quite a distance away before being ran after. I know everyone has their own comfort zone of how far to allow a baby to wander though, and not all are picky as I am.

Didn't the article state her mustang was parked under a walnut tree or something? Sorry, not going back a 4th time to read it. Maybe that's what was meant by "nut house". Those nuts get all over your driveway, yard, etc. Also, its a funny plaque referring to the normal, chaos inside a house of 2/3 children..... I read nothing into it. But, I am surprised if she has her car parked underneath a tree that drops nuts. I sure wouoldn't.
