Quote: "Downloading" includes viewing without actual download, many successful prosecutions are completed through using residual images left on the viewers computer.[38]

A very hard page to read on Wiki. :(

What we might have here is a situation of colloquialism, depending on what flash drives are called in different parts of the country.

I had never heard of a "Memory Stick" before last night.

I honestly doubt they had to specify "Memory Stick" in a search warrent of the house in a missing child case. All they had to do was specify "visual or reading material," and that's probably what they did since we know they took all the print-outs from the internet Billy had made at work.

For that matter they could have gotten a warrant for Internet-Related materials and Communication Devices, and that flash drive/memory stick thing would fall under that category.

Where I live, we call flash drives "Flash Keys" - or at least I do, because that's what my kids call theirs, and I think they learned that word from their teachers at school. I think that comes from keeping the flash drive on a keychain.

I thought the affidavits had said "memory stick". It was actually in the earliest reports of what was taken as a result of the search warrants.

It has only been reported by one source so far. Twitter is on fire about it. I can't see why the local and/or national media or even NG haven't picked this up. I totally agree, it is very strange.

Here is the response I rec'd from KRBC (Abilene, TX).

It's not that we aren't reporting it -- we haven't obtained the information to report it. ARN got an affidavit through the Freedom of Information Act (kudos to them). We can get it as well, but there's a process and we have to pick it up in person. It'll be on the news later today.

Yah, I did ask them about not reporting it.

Traffick911 is deeply saddened by this revelation. Child *advertiser censored* is trafficking. We are, of course, making adjustments and will make an announcement soon. Please join us in keeping our focus on Hailey and all the children suffering from this horrific crime.

my comp is so full of google now I had to look up bestiality................
that's how 'OLD' I am...........
Hubby told me what he saw in his Marine years.........BUT!
Thought it was just in foreign countries..............dumb I am

I won't even look it up -- but I thought it was always s-x with animals. I think I'm wrong though -- maybe people dressing up as animals, killing animals for pleasure, etc.

In any case - all of it is WRONG on so many disgusting levels.

It is sex with animals. The people that dress up as animals and have sex are called furries, I think. I've heard of people at conventions doing stuff like that, but I don't think it falls under bestiality, technically. Sadly, I know this from an episode of CSI. The things you learn from television.

And sadly, I really don't want to look this stuff up, so this is as far as I'm going with it. *shudder*

Quote under subsection 4:

(B) knowingly possesses, or knowingly accesses with intent to view, 1 or more books, magazines, periodicals, films, video tapes, or other matter which contain any visual depiction that has been mailed, or has been shipped or transported using any means or facility of interstate or foreign commerce or in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, or which was produced using materials which have been mailed or so shipped or transported, by any means including by computer, if—
(i) the producing of such visual depiction involves the use of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct; and
(ii) such visual depiction is of such conduct;

BD is guilty of this, as well as SA of course. imo Stated at the link-- up to 10 years.

Guys, let's not go further than the news has taken us. Please let's not speculate on this beyond the facts as we know them. Sensitivity here is key in this discussion.

Thanks.

This is a card reader. It attaches to the USB port. It accepts Memory Sticks (see description).

These are Memory Sticks. Some are packaged with the adapter, but many are not. Sony patented the Memory Stick name, which may be why I could not find a PNY brand Memory Stick to show you. Sorry, but hope this will help clarify.

Memory sticks come in two styles. A flat card type you slide in or a stick type with a usb plug to plug into a device They both do the same thing so I'm not sure it matters which one is referred to in the warrant. Sony's patent on the name has confused the matter even though theirs is technically a card and not a stick. MOO of course.

... and Billie looks so young. :silenced:

I wonder if DD could have walked in to a really bad scene. Doors locked. Deer in headlight look?

"Whats the difference between a flash drive and a memory stick?"

"a flash drive is usually a small stick that can be pluged into a computer via USB to easly store and read files.

A memory stick is a flat card-like devise that usually takes a special reder to get files from/to it."

"A flash drive is used for storing files, pictures, videos, and etc. A flash drive would be very useful for storing files.

A memory stick is used for high defintion pictures and videos.
And a memory stick is usually better for pictures and videos."

"What's the difference between a "memory stick" and a "flash drive?" I need to transfer data from one computer to another and I need ot get one or the other."

"Use a flash drive to transfer data. They work on any USB port.
Memory sticks are typically found in camera's. And need more specialized ports to upload images on computer."

Do we know if the memory stick belongs to Billie? I mean it was in her dresser but she does not own a computer and there was *advertiser censored* at Shawn's Mom's house. I still want to give her the benefit of the doubt here.

PS this is a memory stick:

And why didn't they arrest anyone? Clearly an arrest should be made there.

Clint's mom is probably just absolutely sick right now. I think that Shawn had been abusing Hailey and then finally killed her.

Let's just hope that some of the same images are on the memory card and SA's moms computer.

With this news about images on the computer, a CD and the memory stick, I think you hit the nail on the head. Sadly, but probably true.

remember jerrad herrell? He killed somer thompson. It takes months if longer to build a case on *advertiser censored*...

I agree that clearly an arrest should be made... from the article it seems like it will be a dual county investigation.
