Helene roars through Southeast: Helene is now a tropical depression after making landfall in Florida as a Category 4 hurricane. There have been at least 23 storm-related deaths across four states, and millions are without power.

Life-threatening flooding: Multiple states have recorded more than a foot of rain, with numerous flash flood emergencies issued in the Southeast, including Atlanta.

Supercharged by climate change: The storm’s intensity was fueled by warm waters due to fossil fuel use. It was the strongest hurricane on record to slam into Florida’s Big Bend region.

I just hate the feeling that there are people just trying to hold on, waiting for help.

It's just incredible that the flooding could be so bad and completely surround a hospital like that. I wonder how the major electrical and HVAC systems are doing. Things like the expensive medical imaging and laboratory equipment, the equipment for the OR's, their computer equipment and such. I did read that they were able to evacuate all the patients and remove all the pharmacy supplies so that their precious supplies of antibiotics, IV bags, and such would not be damaged.
