Now we know why he didn't site the college he earned it from! ​

Based on his track record of not being able to stick at one thing too long, does this really surprise anyone? If he really had a business degree, he would have been able to make his real estate business work. What person spends 80 grand on advertising, much less on refrigerator magnets when the information on them could change? Apparently he expected to have the same telephone number and address for a very long time. Well that didn't work out, did it? Although his broker's and real estate licenses are current, nobody can get hold of him anymore! Good grief!

I don't know if anyone else checked into this, but I checked into the honor society that he listed that he was a member of:

Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society for two year colleges, so at some point in time he must have gone to a two-year school.
Here is the link to the listings of colleges that offer the Phi Theta Kappa. There are quite a few for Washington, and since I am not familiar with the area, I am not sure which ones may be near to where he grew up.

In my opinion, as much bragging as Josh Powell has done about himself on the realtor and susanpowell.org site, most of which appears to be big lies, if he had a legitimate college degree, he would have listed the college he obtained it from.

Further research can be done which may prove we have drawn the wrong conclusion. However, I don't know what other colleges to check. As it stands, a Websleuther has already spend $13.00 getting verifications from the two colleges we were told he attended by people who ought to know.

Not impossible, of course, but in college people start to specialize.

Also, the vagueness. If he'd written for the paper, he'd probably list its name. And it looks like he meant Phi Beta Kappa but googled it and wrote the wrong one - unless he attended a community college like Pierce (in Puyallup) at one time. It sounds like he's just making things up, ala Mark Hacking.

Next, he'll be putting up a website that announces he's an astronaut in training and winner of the pie eating contest at the Washington State Fair.

BBM - I would sincerely hope that anyone who wrote for a school or college newspaper at any level, even Elementary, woudl develop a better writing style than Josh's stilted, choppy style demonstrated on his various websites, and would develop a better turn of phrased.

It there is a grain of truth in that claim, he might have submitted an article, once, that they might have published if it was a slow news month.

Based on his picture in the magnet, I'd guess he had 12-years experience at "dressing all by himself".

That is fine and great that he went to Pierce College (Not Pierce Community College), but they do not grant bachelor's degrees, only associates degrees. And, we don't even know if he kept attending after he enrolled! Just because he was enrolled doesn't mean he went to all his classes. We do not know exactly when he quit and based on his history, I suspect he wasn't at school every day he should have been when he was enrolled because Josh Powell is a QUITTER!

His job as a computer programmer for a trucking company - Due to not showing up on December 7, 2009, he was ultimately fired
Pursuing his real estate career
Allowing Susan's parents, Judy and Chuck Cox, to see Charlie and Braden
Paying his debts - copped out by filing for bankruptcy
Taking care of Susan's blue crown conure parrot - handed it off to a friend
