Unless we discuss with them or those that were present at the meeting we won't really know. All the supposition in the world won't provide the answers to exactly why or what they were discussing until someone finds it necessary to disclose.

I do wish Marc Klaas would take George under his wing, though.

Though obviously I am speaking for myself here, as in- this is MO, but I seriously doubt Marc Klaas would align himself with any of the Anthony's, ever! He is not blind or stupid- imo

Disability? I seriously doubt it, neither have a disability. Plus, it takes months and sometimes years to be finally be approved and that is for people with real disabilities. Even with 2 people on disability there wouldn't be enough money to pay the mortgage, house/car insurance, car payments, cable/phone/internet bills, electric/gas/water/sewer, taxes, food...etc for 7 months.

Sadly, it is not always difficult to get disability. Also, though not everyone, a lot of people do make very good money on disability- plenty for everything you listed.

It was reported early on that Cindy was given money basically from a hardship fund from her work. I'm not sure how long that lasted. Maybe she's entitled to disability at this point.

My understanding is CA was able to receive sick benefits from her work for so many weeks, then if more time is needed, she can apply to the companies long term disability, which I think benefits can last up to one year. It's called disability, but it's actually an extention of sick leave payments.

He sounded pretty sympathetic towards George the other night, though, on NG.

I feel like a total dope. I'm no fan of the Anthonys, but in this instance (this thread topic), I couldn't figure out why you all were so revolted at the notion that ABC would arrange for an ABC representative to meet them in Orlando and escort them to a hotel which ABC would pay for.

I thought it was courteous of ABC to offer to do that -- and even appropriate, inasmuch as the reason the A's weren't home when their granddaughter's remains were found was because they were doing that interview for ABC in California.

I only just now realized the A's hadn't been in CA for an ABC interview! They'd been on CNN!

That puts a whole new perspective on the situation. It makes me want to gag over the actions of ABC and Michelle Bart, and I can't like the Anthonys for accepting what ABC was doing--and knowing exactly why ABC was doing it.

Although, ABC certainly got what's coming to them--CA has since cut them off! :floorlaugh: See bold below.

"WKMG's Adam Longo explored how ABC had paid for rooms at the expensive Ritz-Carlton for the Anthonys on the day the remains were found. Brad Conway, attorney for George and Cindy Anthony, stressed that the family "never profited" from the situation, Longo said. Conway and the family "have cut out" ABC to show their displeasure that the network had paid a licensing fee to meter reader Roy Kronk, Longo added. Kronk found Caylee's remains.

Because I've often been so critical of the A's, my conscience demands that I speak up in their defense about a couple of things here.

I don't think it's really strange that they went to a hotel instead of going home, or that they dined with the others in the hotel's restraurant. Unfortunately, I have some personal insight from experience about what may have been going on with them at that point. It's perfectly possible they didn't want to go home because they just couldn't bear it, yet. They'd spent 5 debilitating months there, living on hope and fear, comforting themselves with Caylee's bedroom and toys, and they'd just discovered her body had been rotting right down the street. Last but not least, they also knew the media would be swarming all over the place if they went home.

It's also likely that they were too drained and emotionally battered to do anything except follow the orders/suggestions of others like heartbroken puppets, i.e., "You need to eat...We should eat in the hotel...Come downstairs to dinner...You shouldn't go home yet...Stay at the hotel another night..."

I'm puzzled by the fact that Cindy wanted to spend time that night with DC instead of George, but maybe he was asleep already.

WHY on earth would Cindy diss CBS in the event that they rewarded Kronk with ANYTHING?

He found her grand daughter's remains!!!

I'm really at a loss over this.......or not. Makes me think she isn't grateful that she could put Caylee to rest rather than laying on the side of a road in some bushes, thrown away like trash!!!!

IMO, she was not grateful at all. Caylee being found meant the donation jars for her search had to be put away, all of the internet
donation solicitations would end.
I have never heard Cindy publicly thank Kronk, actually, I don't think "thank you" is even part of her vocabulary.
It was ABC, not CBS, btw. Let's not involve an innocent network.

The Anthony's may be miserable, but they are financially profitting. Someone is paying the bills, and attorneys. Sometimes, i won't say who, but it seems like Cindy is anonymously posting here in her own defense.

O/T: I think we'd be amazed at who lurks and posts here. I know for certain that one of the major news anchors is a regular. Just watch the posts before showtime in the hottest threads and you'll hear VERBATIM some of the posts here in WS. Our theories are also insinuated into several shows. Perhaps their are other forums where the same things are discussed, but on at least three occasions I have listened to an anchor read word-for-word what must have been either her post, or someone on her staff's post.....just food for thought.....and consideration.....

I wondered about that...it was somewhat contradictive. Maybe Marc heard what we all had to say about someone needing to guide poor George.
