UPDATE 10.21.19. After having consulted with the family and exhausting all leads we have suspended all organized ground search efforts as of this afternoon. Officers spent the morning canvasing businesses in the Pioneer Avenue to Ben Walters area as we had a confirmed last-sighting in front of Homer's Jeans early Saturday evening. The two tracking K9 teams indicated heavy interest in the area between Anesha's residence and Kachemak Way, where she frequented. Based on the K9's behavior and all other circumstances, our current theory is Anesha was either picked up or got into a vehicle near the college around 5:30pm Saturday October 19th. Homer Officers along with assistance from the Anchorage FBI office are continuing the investigation. Our thoughts are with the family as we continue to expediently move through this process.

EDIT: Anesha was last seen Thursday October 17th.

Family fears for missing Homer woman, Search efforts expand statewide

[...] Berg describes her daughter as capable, reliable and careful. During a Thursday afternoon phone call, she told KTUU about Murnane's master's degree in education, her experiences traveling solo through Europe and her shy, sweet temperament.

"She's very conservative. She walks from safe point A to safe point B," Berg said. "She's not an adventurous person, although she's capable."

Murnane was born in Homer and returned home 6 years ago-- after experiencing some medical issues. Her mother says doctors had recently diagnosed Murnane with bipolar disorder, but she was doing well at the time of her disappearance.

"We were just so excited and happy because she (Anesha) was just doing so well," Murnane's mother said.

Still searching for her. A friend of mine works with one of Duffy's relatives - she said family are very concerned for Duffy since just disappearing is allegedly completely out of character for her. However, Duffy had apparently been communicating with a few men on some Internet dating sites, but that ended several months ago and she had not spoken with any of these guys since. In this respect, they do not believe she ever met any dates in person (not sure if she was speaking to any of them over the phone though)... Duffy also was living in a group home, and was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder; her relative said she just started taking lithium a few days before she went missing. I'm going to see if I can talk to my friend to have Duffy's relative become a Verified Insider on here - I know she's traveling out to help search for her. She does not own a car, and her family says walking is not unusual for her. After the search, officers reported that K-9 activity likely points to Murnane either being picked up or entering a vehicle near the Kenai Peninsula College- less than one mile from her home. Her mother, Susan Berg, says that disappearing is not something she would expect from Anesha, who is referred to by the family as "Duffy."

I’ve been following this in the news.

The fact that Anesha has travelled alone through Europe makes me think she would be savvy enough not to get into a car with a stranger. JMO

Here is some info on lithium, which Anesha recently started taking for bipolar disorder.

I hope she is found soon. The 2017 population of Homer was 5,697. Surely someone must have seen something.

Vigil held Saturday for missing Homer woman | Peninsula Clarion

On Sunday, friends and family did another canvass for Murnane, going through neighborhoods, knocking on doors and passing out fliers. Since she went missing, a group of volunteers has been not only spreading the word, but contacting people in the hope that someone will remember seeing her around when she went missing.

“The more we can hold this light for her, the greater the chances of bringing her home,” said Murnane’s childhood friend, Tela Bacher, at the vigil.

Homer Police Lt. Ryan Browning said there is no new information in the case.
