Check the comments made a couple minutes ago by a CA on the FB missing page about someone seeing her in the window of a white trailer. When asked if she called LE she said yes and LE wanted the address (with her saying "don't push it") - OMG SOMEONE PLEASE HURRY AND GET THAT TO LE ASAP (sorry about the caps, but OMG they can't wait!)

The person that seen her isn't supposed to be up there?? I wouldn't care if that was my daughter i would call right away and the CA that posted that is her mom.

Search continues for Anchorage mother, missing for more than a week

ANCHORAGE – Lissa Lake is sounding the call to action, asking volunteers to help bring 20-year-old Jael Hamblen home.
Hamblen has been missing for more than a week after vanishing from her South Anchorage apartment last Saturday.

Lake hopes pictures of Hamblen sparks someone’s memory.

“Just trying to get the community out and get the word out and get Jael’s face out. She has a 7-month-old baby at home and there’s no way that she would have left that little guy,” Lake said.

Lake’s daughter, Lane, is Hamblen’s best friend. Lane reached out on YouTube and spoke about her friend’s son.

“He’s the one thing that made her happy, he’s her pride and joy. She’s sacrificed a lot so that she can provide for him. She’s gotten her GED, she’s in college, she’s trying to do her best to provide a future for her and her son,” Lane said. “So I just want to ask everyone to keep their eyes and ears open.”

IMO LE needs to talk with the last person she text with, which from the FB a page is in the Military. Also, plaster those flyers all over JBER's FB pages. (The base) it wouldn't hurt IMO.

She needs to be found, she has a 7 month old that needs her.

ETA: I haven't checked, but I wonder if she's been listed in NAMUS.

Its said she walked out of her apt. left her car took phone and charger.

As the search for Hamblen enters a new month, some things have been resolved. Joel (her infant son) now lives with his grandmother, Wasilla resident Colleen Vague, where he is being well cared-for, Bosman said.

However, the longer the wait goes on, the more suspicious Hamblen’s disappearance becomes, Bosman wrote, in an e-mail.

“I definitely think she was taken, or that something happened to her,” she wrote. “She would never run off like this, especially not without her son. He’s her everything, she hates to even leave him to go to work or school, let alone 23 days.”

Young Anchorage Mother Still Missing After 1 Month

It's been a full month since anyone heard from Jael Hamblen according to her mother who is concerned foul play is involved in the disappearance. "She was in a very positive upbeat mood the day she disappeared," said Vague. "That's how I know she didn't hurt herself. She didn't walk off."

IMO, they're not interested. I tried. If the last person she spoke to is Military, then I'd be hitting up the Base FB pages with flyers. If the base doesn't want them on there they can remove them. I was blown off.

Then I read she just walked out, didn't ask her roommate to watch the baby?

Something doesn't sound right IMO.

No one has heard from her since Oct. 11.


The 20-year-old was last seen at her South Anchorage apartment. Everything was left behind, including her son.


“I know somebody knows something. She didn’t just disappear into a black hole. I know somebody knows something,” said Vague, who is Joel’s temporary guardian.


Vague thinks about how much he’s grown while his mother has been missing and says she hopes every day to learn what happened to Hamblen.


“You see that stuff on TV and now you’re living it and you’re going, ‘That’s just not real.’ That’s my daughter’s face looking back at me from that missing poster,” Vague said.


Notices are hung up around the Mat-Su Valley and Anchorage.


Those who know the young mother best say she’s not the type of person to get up and leave.

Joel turned 1 two days ago. March10. Unfortunately his mother was not there to celebrate with him. But we are still looking!

About two weeks ago hikers walking along a trail in Chugiak found a purse buried in the snow. Friends say before hikers turned over the evidence to police, they found personal belongings and a document that specifically identified Hamblen inside the purse.

Anchorage police have not confirmed or denied the recovery of this evidence.

Hamblen's friend says it was found on a trail near Chugiak, but APD asked us to not reveal the location because of their concerns about jeopardizing the investigation.

Missing: Hamblen case now being investigated as homicide, family says

ANCHORAGE — A missing persons case with a Wasilla connection is now being investigated as a homicide, the missing woman’s mother said.
Jael Hamblen, 20, at the time of her disappearance in October 2014, left behind a now 1-year-old son named Joel and lingering questions.
Layn Bosman, Hamblen’s longtime friend, and adoptive mother Colleen Vague, who is currently caring for Joel. Hamblen’s car was left in the driveway of the house she lived in, and Joel was with friends for the evening. Hamblen had appeared upbeat at a family dinner that night, her family said.
Hamblen attended Teeland Middle School and the Valley Career and Technical High School.
New evidence has emerged, Vague said, which has led the case to be shifted from the missing persons department within the Anchorage Police Department to homicide detectives. Police are being judicious about which information to make public, Vague added.
“I found out about a week ago,” she said. “There’s been some additional things found that indicate that it’s now a homicide.”
