If he was out of the city when they said that and they were following him than their statement would have been true at the time.

I saw that as well, but when I saw it, it was a comment under a news article. That's all I'm saying. I don't know that it matters, I just think it's easy to get caught up on a point we think is fact because it gets passed around only to realize it's not fact when looking for back up. Not trying to be testy..

I don't think LE feels that the general public is in any more danger than they normally are. We are all subject to being victims of a crime at any time... even in our own homes.
If there was a serial killer running loose, yeah... warn the public. But one kidnapping does not constitute causing a panic and everybody going ballistic.
There was a photo of a post on WS about a truck stopping on the hill the night of the abduction or something like that.
Does anyone think that was Keyes truck?
(I am a bit out of the loop on recent discussions in this case)
Anchorage is a pretty "small" city. This type of thing doesn't happen often. A person at-large that (violently) abducted someone from a coffee shack under duress IS A BIG THING FOR US!!! I cannot underline that more heavily... IMO, to say there is "no public threat" means to me that this person is either under surveillance, gone or otherwise no longer around to do something like this again...Look at the intense response and emotion that this case has garnered...it should be telling.

I have never said release the video, I can see no need to witness an abduction- maybe a still shot could have been released, but that may not have been available without seeing the victim. And although it may sound like I am bashing the police, I certainly am not. There is accountability here though to the citizens of your gorgeous city.
Many crimes go unsolved, many departments look back and with they had done things differently. This department i believe honestly thought she was alive for the longest time ... today is 8 weeks since she was taken, and their thoughts have changed.
I said the same thing a few pages back in the thread. I think a camera picked up his truck on a camera from somewhere and when they tracked him down he knew they had seen his truck there so he said he was but that he didn't see anything, and then he left the state. No doubt in my mind at all that was him and they knew all along who it took her.
Ik was GONE... he left the next day. So, unless they found him traveling out of state after Feb 3, it was NOT him.
Comments below the article from supossed house sitter/ dog watcher that the family left town on feb 2nd. Family went on vacation.

There is another Salvation Army work training Center, I believe...it is about 2-3 blocks behind where the coffee hut is... I drove by it when we brought our car in for alignment and made a mental note... It is on E. 48th Ave.
