JONESBORO — Clayton County Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing child who has not been seen by his mother for more than 20 days.

On Dec. 10 at approximately 3 p.m., Clayton County Police officers responded to the In-Town Suites at 7021 Tara Blvd., Jonesboro, in reference to a missing juvenile. Responding officers met with the mother of 3-year-old Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj who advised that she has not seen Abdul since Dec. 1 when he left with his father, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, to go on a trip to the park.

The mother of Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj advised officers and detectives that Abdul suffers from seizures, developmental and cognitive delays and is unable to walk due to suffering a Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) at birth.

It is unknown if Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj is traveling without his medication which is required to prevent him from suffering a serious medical emergency. A Clayton County judge has issued a “Pick Up Order” for Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj and he has been placed on the GCIC and NCIC databases as a missing person. According to authorities, there are no criminal charges pending against Siraj Ibn Wahhaj. Their concern is for the wellbeing of Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj’s health.

Adbul-Ghani Wahhaj is thought to still be in the care of his father and the pair was last seen in Chilton County, Ala., where they were involved in a single-vehicle accident on Dec. 13 at 1:30 a.m. on I-65. At the time of the accident, Abdul and Siraj were in the company of five children and two adults who were traveling with them. Information provided to the Alabama officer who made contact with the group indicated that they were traveling to New Mexico for a camping trip. After the accident, the group was picked up in a 2006 Ford Box-truck bearing Delaware tag number “CL085217” which is registered to Lucas Allen Morton of Atlanta.

Very strange still...

-

A father who took his now-missing child out of Clayton County last year was found in New Mexico, although the child is still missing.
On Friday, authorities in New Mexico detained Wahhaj and Morton after serving a search warrant on what they described as "a makeshift compound."

Eleven children from ages 1-15 were taken into protective custody and later turned over to child services in New Mexico, although Wahhaj's son was not one of the kids found.

Police say no one would say where the child was, but authorities believe he was at the compound "weeks ago."

Authorities in New Mexico say they served the search warrant after receiving a message from a Georgia detective that they believed came from the compound saying "we are starving and need food and water."

When Wahhaj was captured, police say he was heavily armed with an AR15 rifle, five loaded 30-round magazines and four loaded pistols.
Father who took missing Clayton County child found in New Mexico; Kid still missing

I can't think of a good ending to this with one very outrageous exception. Obviously I do not think this is true, but it's the one way I can see this child being okay.

If this child was in a Gypsy Blanchard situation and did not need that medication. If the father removed him to prove that. However, I think that is simply not the case, given the way the other 11 kids were found.

Mysterious lives upended

Okay this article just adds to the bizarre aspect of this situation and I couldn’t pick what to clip from it.

Sadly, Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj, the toddler still missing, would have turned 4 today.

All 5 adults have now been arrested on child abuse.

Interestingly, in January, someone from New York posted about his missing family members (fitting the description of this group) and it is thought they are related.

There is a lot in that article. The condition of the children is horrible.

Father of missing Georgia boy believed son was 'possessed,' arrest warrant reveals
The father of the missing child is accused of abducting him from his Georgia home, an incident originally reported by the child's mother, Hakima Ramzi, on Dec. 10, 2017, when Wahhaj never returned home after taking the toddler to a local park.

Ramzi said the child suffers from seizures, developmental and cognitive delays and is unable to walk due to suffering hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy – a lack of oxygen at birth, according to information in a missing person report filed in Georgia in December and in the arrest warrant for the father.

But Wahhaj believed his son suffered from another affliction, according to Ramzi.

"The mother states that the father made it known before absconding that he wanted to perform an exorcism on said child because he believes the child is possessed by the devil," the arrest warrant states.

This poor baby.

TAOS, N.M. — A father arrested at a ramshackle New Mexico compound where 11 children were found living in filth was training youngsters to commit school shootings, prosecutors said in court documents obtained Wednesday.
The allegations against Siraj Ibn Wahhaj came to light as authorities awaited word on whether human remains discovered at the site were those of his missing son, who is severely disabled and went missing in December in Jonesboro, Georgia, near Atlanta.
The documents say Wahhaj was conducting weapons training with assault rifles at the compound near the Colorado border that was raided by authorities Friday.
Prosecutor: Man at compound trained kids for school shooting

BBM. This case just keeps getting crazier!

TAOS, N.M. – The Latest on 11 children found living in a filthy, makeshift compound in New Mexico (all times local):
4 p.m.
A representative of a New York mosque says the raid of a ramshackle compound in New Mexico is being used as propaganda against Muslims.
Ali Abdul-Karim Judan, a spokesman for the mosque, said in a video posted Thursday on Facebook that the incident was a domestic situation that has nothing to do with extremism.
The grandfather of a severely disabled boy, who authorities say was kidnapped by his father and taken to the compound, has said remains found there are those of his grandson.
The man is an imam at the New York mosque.
Judan also cast doubt on a contention by prosecutors that children found at the site were being trained to use assault rifles in preparation for school shootings.

He said authorities should not have made that claim without stronger evidence.

The mosque has attracted radicals over the years, including a man who later helped bomb the World Trade Center in 1993.
The Latest: Compound incident called anti-Muslim propaganda

A New York City man who leads a well-known mosque says he's learned that his grandson, a severely disabled boy who was kidnapped by his father and marked for exorcism, was found buried at the ramshackle compound in the New Mexico desert that has been the focus of investigators for the past week.

New Mexico authorities, however, said they had yet to identify the remains, discovered Monday. And prosecutors said they were awaiting word on the cause of death before deciding on any charges.

The boy from Georgia, Abdul-ghani Wahhaj, would have turned 4 Monday. Authorities said he was snatched from his mother in December in Jonesboro, Georgia, near Atlanta.
NYC Imam Says Remains at New Mexico Compound Are Grandson

The father of the man discovered at a New Mexico compound with 11 starving children has called his son 'a little bit extreme' and 'high strung'.

Imam Siraj Wahhaj, the leader of a well-known New York City mosque, also revealed other family members told him that his grandson Abdul-ghani Wahhaj is dead.

The three-year-old, who was severely disabled, was reported missing by his mother in December from their Atlanta home.

She told authorities that Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, the child's father and her husband, said he wanted to perform an exorcism on the child. He took their son to the park and never returned.

Wahhaj, his so-called new wife, and his two sisters were all arrested on Friday at the compound, where authorities discovered 11 starving children.
