I wish we had a clearer timeline. She had changed out of her school clothes by 4:02, the time she went to the store. That's pretty soon after school dismissal, and according to the time stamp on the video, it was before the time that her grandmother thought she had come in to change her clothes. I think she must have come home, changed, and left earlier than her grandmother thought she had left. Or, could she have changed, went to the store, returned home, and then have been taken? Could the perp. have taken her to the store, let her return home, and then taken her? Maybe taking her to the store was easy, and that gave the perp. the confidence to take her again. I know, sounds complicated, but just brainstorming as I think about the timeline. That would also explain why she had money, then didn't have any money, thus the excitement to go see her dad whom she thought would give her money. How does the money fit in to all of this? Had someone been giving her money in the past?

If they do, they aren't telling the public. I hope "no news is good news". I keep checking local news sites for word of an arrest. Reports said the autopsy was complete on Friday afternoon, but no info. about the results have been released.

I see a guy with white shirt come from around the store same direction in the video. LE need to find out who that is. I think it would be impossible for him not to see something. coming from same direction she she Is last seen running

I have to keep walking away from this case. I have a 9 year old daughter and when it was reported that Hiawayi was found naked it was just too much for me. I really want LE to find the person responsible for that precious darling's death.

I have an 8 year granddaughter. I had to make myself NOT look at the video! I have sleep issues, and children's cases on here really mess with me.

OMG... what is wrong with these people? 1st~ The guy selling t-shirts is disgusting. Isn't there some kind of law against something like that? Or can any Joe take a picture of my kid and exploit her? 2nd~ What is the purpose of the march? Are they trying to send a message to the killer or something? I think if LE asked them to postpone it, then they should have. LE needs to focus on finding the creep and not have to worry about the people out marching.
3rd ~ I'm pretty sure the lady in the video at the store, is just that, a lady at the store. So who's threatening her to the point she might need police protection? LE should have never called her a POI. Uggggg. so frustrating.

Wow. That's all so terrible for the family. They don't need this kind of stuff going on surrounding their daughters death. LE needs to be able to focus on finding the killer.

I think she had already changed her clothing. It doesn't look like she is wearing a school polo nor the type of pants that she wore to school. It looks like her outfit matches the description of what the public were told she was wearing when she was still missing. She was last seen wearing purple pants and a white shirt, and that matches her clothing in the video.

Cause of death revealed. Hiawayi died of suffocation, and there were reportedly no signs of sexual assault.

I believe the recent report is referring to her other grandmother.. I could be wrong, but that's what I am thinking. I remember reading that her father had told her maternal grandmother to tell Hiawayi to call her grandmother when she came home. It may be that her paternal grandmother resides in the same apartment as the cousin(s) she was going to visit. I heard on one news report that she was going to an aunt's. I assumed the aunt is the mother of the cousins. MOO.

It would be the second homicide in three months. DP was shot in the leg back in April of this year, then murdered two months later in June.
