Yep. He reminded me of an abusive husband. Abusers come off as all nicey wicey to everyone except those they abuse. .

--good point--There was an FBI agent about 15 years ago,everyone at work thought he was a good guy--But he had been beating his wife and kids for years--Finally,his teenage son and daughter had had enough and, while "laying in wait",shot him to death as he walked up the steps to the house---Both kids were acquitted,a verdict which I totally agreed with--Although the house itself was isolated,neighbors from far away heard screams comig from the house many times--In another case,this one in Canada In the true crime book "Life with Billy', Billy was nice to everyone but abused his wife mercilessly and horribly--She finally blew his head off,literally,with a shotgun--She was acquitted,a verdict which I agreed with----however,sadly,after becoming a compulsive shoplifter despite having money,she eventually killed herself--she couldn't live with the thought that she killed another human being,even one as despicable as her husband

I watched The View this morning and Alec Baldwin IMO is a jerk. His entire interview came off to me as fake and he used every opportunity to degrade his ex wife ( in a tearful somber manner of course) He offers alot of blame but takes no responsibility.

My thoughts exactly. Acording to him he took his anger out on the wrong person....he still doesn't get the fact that abusing anyone in that manner is wrong!!!! As for Rosie, "who just happens to be his friend" when she reffered to the phone call as a "Conversation" with his daughter. WTF. To call that tirade a conversation :doh: .....talk about spin!!!

I watched it too April. Did you happen to notice the tension between Rosie & Barbara? Six months ago Rosie would have never interrupted Barbara ("everyone knows who it is"). No more sucking up by Rosie, I'll bet June can't come soon enough for Barbara.

Did anyone see his brother Daniel (not Steven who wouldn't talk about it much) "defending" Alec the other night? I can't remember which show it was! Anyway, he seemed just as angry towards Kim as Alec. I had to rub my eyes to make sure it wasn't Alec!

Daniel is divorced as well and he even said some mean things about his ex in a snide way.

I'll look around for a transcript, but he didn't make me feel any differently about Alec.

I'm still on the fence with Kim because I just haven't heard enough negatives about her! Apparently from other comments I've read here I've missed a lot!

I saw that interview. I can't remember which show but I'm thinking it was Greta's. Did you get the feeling that the Baldwin Brothers (Alec and Daniel, at least) just don't seem to get what the big deal is?

Yes I noticed, Barbara also tried to point out there are two sides to the story, and Rosie didn't want to hear that.....not part of the agenda!!!!! Rosie is like Jekel and Hyde. One of them is funny :laugh: the other is a complete toss pot!!!! :doh:

That Baldwin borther interview was definitely on Greta's show. I think it was Billy. And Greta opened with the news that felony charges against this guy for stealing a car had been dropped! WTF???

In any case, he was "minimalizing" the incident, he indeed made swipes against his own ex-wife, and you just got the idea that "brothers stick together no matter what" was the gist of his appearance.

When Greta asked him if Alec has had the opportunity to speak directly with Ireland to apologize to her since the phone message incident, his answer was "I don't know".

He doesn't know?? There hasn't been any conversation between the two brothers along the lines of "Oh, yes, I've talked to Ireland since then and apologized profusely to her." or "Even though I can't talk to her right now because of a court order, I sent her a note telling her how sorry I am" etc. etc.

This seems to me to be a case of the more you hear, the more you see how totally messed up the actual situation is. I wonder if Alec's agents didn't warn him that if he was going to make TV appearnaces about this incident trying to "explain his side" that they did not want to further represent him?

Alec is so out there that he doesn't even get how lucicrous it is for him to be defending his awful behavior by saying "I really meant to scream those nasty things to my ex-wife, the mother of my child".

And exactly what IS the whole thing about anyway? He doesn't get enough visits? He doesn't get enough phone time? Have these things not been long determined by a court?

That probably is exactly the problem. They have long been determined by the court. Obviously Kim has no qualms about disregarding the orders of the court when it serves her purpose.

My guess, from listening to the message, is that Kim has yanked him around about exactly when he may and may not call Ireland to the point that it is in writing down to the minute (the comment about him dropping what he is doing to call Ireland) and then she turns off the phone.

I believe it was on Greta. She made sure to announce that car theft charges against Daniel had been dropped.

Right on Fran! He probably knows that his bullying no longer affects Kim directly so he's stooped to the next level by belittling their child which in turn would hurt any mother.

But if the phone took the message it was not turned off, was it? And what if the poor child was in the bathroom taking a pee and could not get to it in time to pick it up? And then she hears that screaming. Would you go ahead and answer it? I wouldn't!

By the way, what do the courts do when a child gets old enough to say "I really don't want to visit with my father anymore"?

Yeah, there's no doubt that Ireland didn't hear this message until after the fact. I don't know of a cell phone in the world that lets you listen to a message as it's being recorded.

The Orange County District Attorney dismissed all charges against the second oldest Baldwin brother that were related to the actor's alleged theft of his friend's SUV, last fall. The owner of the car claimed the situation was a misunderstanding. --

Baldwin was arrested on November 7, 2006, outside a Santa Monica hotel, and charged with unlawfully taking a vehicle and receiving stolen property, after police received an alert from the SUV's security system and spotted Daniel climbing into the GMC Yukon, which was already reported stolen.

Baldwin was arraigned in Newport Beach Criminal Court and after he failed to show up for two court dates, the Yukon's owner, Kenneth Smith, told the D.A.'s office that the actor was a friend of his for 20 years and had his permission to borrow the car anytime."
