Oh, I'm so sad to hear this.

What a wonderful person she was and what a terrific actress.

Even when she was spoofing herself, she did it with so much class. I think my favorite movie with her was Gaslamp. She was so utterly low, as one would say.

RIP, dear lady

I have always been a big fan of Angela Lansbury. So sad to learn of her passing. I've seen her in GASLIGHT, THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE, and of course, MURDER,SHE WROTE. I just started rewatching wonderful Jessica Fletcher on Amazon Prime. Also loved her as the tipsy woman
who kept calling Hercule Poirot, Mr. Porridge.

Yes, it's so sad- We are going to miss her.

Regarding "the tipsy woman who kept calling Hercule Poirot, Mr. Porridge."

I am sorry I never saw her in that.
Do you remember what film / TV series that was in ?
Thanks.

Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury!

What a loss. She was amazing. Gaslight taught me so much, I'm so grateful for that movie. I loved her in Murder She Wrote (sometimes on WS I pretend I'm Jessica Fletcher). Bedknobs And Broomsticks, Mrs. Pots. Such a talented person.

@MacBridey It's from "Death On The Nile" (quoted line at link, she's Mrs. Ottorbourne Death on the Nile (1978) - IMDb)

There are some lovely photos of Angela Lansbury accepting her award from the Queen but I can't link them.

Angela Lansbury, a versatile actor who wowed generations of fans as a murderous baker, a singing teapot, a Soviet spy and a small-town sleuth among a host of memorable roles, died Tuesday, her family announced.

She was 96.

“The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 AM today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday," her family said in a statement.

The London-born actor took her life’s final bow as one of the most decorated players in stage history...
