An inquiry into a missing eight-year-old boy from Bristol is being treated as child abduction by police.

Angelo Jurado-Marmolejo was reported missing when his father, Rafael Jurado-Cabello, did not return him home after a pre-arranged visit on 2 March.

Police said Mr Jurado-Cabello, a Spanish national, was "now in breach of a court order and is wanted on suspicion of child abduction".

They said they believed "Angelo may have been taken abroad".

Police said Angelo "lives full-time with his mother" in the Whitehall area of Bristol and goes to a local primary school.

Rafael Cabello, 43, a Spanish national, is now in breach of a court order and police enquiries are under way to locate him and Angelo.

We do not have any concerns for their welfare but we need to locate them as soon as possible.

Enquiries are being made both in the UK and with the Spanish authorities.

(Description):

Mr Cabello is described as white, 5ft 6ins/7ins, slim, with black hair.

Angelo is described as white, aged eight, with short wavy dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, 4ft 6ins and last seen wearing a red coat and carrying a blue rucksack.

A boy who went missing for nine months after he was 'abducted' by his father who failed to return him from a pre-arranged visit is now back with his mother.

But Karol confirmed today (December 2) that Angelo had now been safely returned to the family home and his older brother David.

Angelo was recovered by the Spanish authorities at Madrid airport on Saturday (November 30).

He was rescued after getting off a flight from Mexico with his father Rafael Jurado-Marmolejo.

Mr Jurado-Cabello, who was wanted on suspicion of child abduction, has been detained under the terms of a European Arrest Warrant.

Angelo has been through a traumatic experience so my overwhelming priority is to focus on his welfare. I’d be extremely grateful if our family could be given the space and privacy to focus on Angelo.
