April Harris' family still searching for answers 6 years after murder

April Harris was walking out of her apartment to take her kids to school when a person in a ski mask jumped out of the bushes and shot her.

'April Harris' daughter was injured, and the rest of her kids are alive and well today, but they are still looking for answers.
"I would never in a million years think that we would still be trying to find out who murdered April Harris," Fleming said.
Police said that even after six years, there were no new leads and no persons of interest'.

Officials are seeking information on an unsolved homicide from 2018 where a 30-year-old woman was shot and killed while taking her kids to school.

The mother of four was shot by a man wearing a ski mask on Jan. 19, 2018, while walking to her car with her children at the Fairfax Crossing Apartments on the 5900 block of McCain Place in North Little Rock.

In 2021, deputies said the man wearing a ski mask did not say anything to Harris before he fired his gun and ran off.

Detective Jeffery Allison said they have evidence on the case; however, they’re still missing one thing.

“We have a lot of circumstantial evidence on this and there is some direct evidence, but it is not enough right now. We have to have this one missing piece for someone to tell us what we know,” Allison said.

One year and three months after a woman was shot to death while holding her 5-year-old daughter in Pulaski County, investigators and family members asked again for the community's help in identifying her killer.
