Ah ok thanks, glad we've cleared that up although 2 seperate people hearing / reading the same story sounds pretty icky to just be a coincidence...

Unless both of yous as in you and the oil place worker read the same article which has now been pulled!

As if this case isn't confusing enough :tantrum:

Just in case the media reports turn out to be true, or even if they don't, here is a link to a map I made up a week or so back showing Malik's house in relation to the Little Red River.

At the time I made this up, they were searching 5 miles north of where he lived, also marked on the map.

zoom the map in and out for closer views with the center wheel on your mouse.

My heart sank, nothing on twitter, anxiously waiting :(

Someone should email that news station and kick up a fuss as to why they've posted that online....

Disrespectful & sloppy 'journalism' IMO

Thank you so much for the map. Now that I am seeing it, there is just no way in heck that little boy got there by himself. I feel almost 100% certain on that. And let's just say for a minute that he did walk all that way how come nobody saw this little guy? I suppose a block or two he could of gone undetected but not that far away. Somebody would of spotted him. He would of stuck out like a sore thumb too. Being that little, alone in the dark and most likely near a road. My goodness where is this little peanut??

Sounds like somebody pulled a cruel joke on the Radio station..........which was then picked up by the print media and published online, hence the two differing places it was seen or heard.

Very plausible!

You're welcome. And I fully agree.....if he is in that river, then somebody put him in that river.

I agree steelman and stormynights, I hate to say this but where ever he may be, I think someone put him there. IMO

Guys, I realize this little sweetie is in all of out hearts, but we need to wait for MSM to report something.

PlainJaneDoe,

We are awaiting MSM and/or LE confirmation. :(

This post sums it up:

Well so far it is going to have to be no, he hasn't been found. The article I read that said his body was recovered was yanked almost right away and Savvy said a woman heard it on her radio at the oil change place. So, until we see MSM confirming it, we just have to go with he hasn't been found.

It's awful.

I fired off an e-mail to Fox16. I, of course, didn't mention WS at all. Just said that I was very upset and disappointed with the story they laid and then pulled. I doubt I will get a response. I am not sure what radio station that lady who told Savvy was.....Do you know Savvy?

I feel like I sound much more freaked out when I call around looking for my phone charger...
ETA what! That was a neighbor!

Thank you WSers, for all the info and discussion. Two and half year old little Malik Drummond had already been missing for forty five minutes according to the neighbor when she called. So would it be safe to assume that she may have heard LM and the Dad calling out for him that long? When asked what he'd been wearing, the neighbor spoke to somebody in the background, repeating the question, but she didn't have an answer yet. So, would it be safe to assume that she may have made the call as a good neighbor, not at Malik's family's request, who may have thought at that point that they would find him here or there, looking around and making calls, but not yet to LE, themselves. Who did the Dad and LM contact when during those 45 minutes of searching would be telling, of what, I don't know. If it weren't for the great neighbor, LE would have probably been alerted even later, maybe until after the twin's mom arrived and got her bearings. Perhaps she hadn't known the first 45 minutes, and what Ken Buffa (will go back and check) reported the first night about the mom going around the block calling out for Malik may have been LM?

I don't know. But another friend has told me that she heard it on the radio too! She didn't know what station. I don't know what to think.

Eta: I'm glad you wrote them! I started to and then stopped because I didn't see it myself.
I hope they respond .

Someone posted a question on Twitter about the status of Malik's search earlier today. Searcy PD just replied:

@(redacted) thnks 4 your concern: false info search/invest ongoing any info regarding his disappearance pls call 501-268-3531 #FindMalik

https://twitter.com/SearcyPD/status/542491250411053056

It looks like the early report was mistaken and Malik hasn't been found yet. :(

GOOD....................... then maybe he is still alive somewhere.

I couldn't stand the suspense. I just called the SPD and told them I had been following the case and I read online that he had been found but then I couldn't find the story when I check back. He told me that the story was absolutely false. He said one of the media outlets posted it and then it was picked up by another outlet. He said he had confirmed with his superiors that the info is wrong. Malik has not been found.
