GUILTY Attempted kidnappings in Modesto, CA

The suspect is a spanish speaking male in his 20's.... There is a sketch, and apparantly a possible suspect. It is highly unusual to have so many attempts in such a short period of time so this guy must either be really dumb or extremely dangerous. I hope they pick him up soon before he ups his game.
Wed, he asked a girl for directions and when she didnt respond he followed her. She went behind a store (not exactly smart). He followed, and acting like he had a gun under his sweatshirt he told her to get in the car. She ran.
The next day a man drove up to a girl on her way to school and asked her name. She ran. Same thing happened to another girl walking near by.
Yesterday, there was another incident in which a man ran up behind three girls walking to school and grabbed two of them by the waists. They hit him, he let go. Then he noticed the third girl who had hidden behind some bushes and demanded she get in his car. When she refused, he left.
This is crazy stuff and this guy seems seriously intent on getting himself a girl.

I'm so glad that these girls had the good sense to run. I hope this person is caught soon before he finds a girl that is to scared to run or hit at him. He does sound determined to abduct a young girl.

Well they think they've got the guy. Apparantly today there was an assault on a woman (who hasn't come forward yet) which was witnessed by three other women who chased the suspect for blocks, and even over fences! They didn't catch him however police did catch up to him later in the afternoon. They aren't sure if its the same guy yet but the physical description matches, as well as the vehicle description, and the M.O. None of the websites name they guy but Channel 3 did give a name on their broadcast this evening - unfortunately I didn't catch it.

Interestingly enough, there was a woman driving the car he was in when he was picked up today.

It's also very sad to me that today's victim has not come forward. She must be horribly embarrased. They can't do much to the guy unless she comes forward in the near future. From what I gather, he's in custody but has not been arrested at this point. If that's true, I'm not sure how they've even held on to him that long.

Modesto police arrested a man Wednesday in connection with the recent assaults of 10 teenage girls in west and south Modesto. Pedro Renteria, 19, was arrested after police detained him as a person of interest in an alleged assault Wednesday morning in west Modesto

Pedro Renteria, who was 19 at the time, was captured and arrested June 13, 2007, after three witnesses chased him long enough for authorities to arrive.

Renteria, of Modesto, pleaded guilty March 12 to two felonies and was sentenced to five years, six months in prison.
According to court records, Renteria made inappropriate overtures to six girls and one woman in south and west Modesto, from May 20 to June 4, 2007. He must serve 85 percent of his time, or more than 4½ years, before he will be eligible for parole.

Wow, I'm from the area, bout15-20 mins from Modesto, don't remember ever hearing about this, but I was only 14 at the time... I bet he's out walking the streets of Modesto already, IMO people who do things like this will most likely do it again... I remember not that long ago a man from Stockton was released from jail in Modesto after some charges having to do with b&e and rape, he didn't want to go home so he started walking around, witnessed a woman home alone and tried to do the same thing again!! If the Central Valley actually had good journalists and reporters, you'd be shocked the things that go on here! I have stories, upon stories of absolutely horrible things that have happened here.. Have a friend who's been missing since 2011, so little information about the whole situation it's infuriating, after all the cases I've read about on here I've literally NEVER seen anything with so little info, she has a case on here but it's a locked forum and idk what to do about that..
