Mum ‘decapitated’ in alleged Aussie murder

A 25-year-old is in custody after she allegedly killed her mum in what has been described as a “gruesome” scene. WARNING: Graphic

A 25-year-old woman is in custody after she allegedly murdered her mum and cut off her head before dropping it on the footpath outside their family home on Sunday morning.

Police rushed to the St Clair home, in Sydney’s north west, just after 11.30pm last night to reports of two women arguing.

Officers found the body of a 57-year-old woman inside the St Clair Ave home with “multiple injuries”, NSW Police said.

A four-year-old boy who was also in the St Clair home at the time of the incident suffered a minor head injury.

The young boy is not the 25-year-old woman’s son, police said.

Nepean Police Area Commander Detective Superintendent Brett McFadden will address a press conference at 10.30am today to provide more details of the incident.

This woman should NEVER be released.

A woman who decapitated her mother in a frantic attack involving at least 100 stab wounds has admitted to attacking and injuring two prison officers while in jail.
The prison officer lost a worrying amount of her hair during the attack, which left two bald patches on her scalp. She also reported swelling and bruising along the right side of her shounder.

The court heard Ms Camilleri had cut off the tip of her mother’s nose, and cut out her tongue and eyeballs.

A woman who stabbed her own mum more than a 100 times before decapitating her and carrying her head out into the street has had her 21-year jail term cut.

Camilleri, who lives with complex mental health conditions and had an obsession with graphic horror films, appealed that sentence on three grounds.

Her representatives told the court the sentencing judge erred in the assessment of the gravity of the crime, failed to discount the sentence following her acceptance of responsibility and willingness to facilitate the administration of justice, and that the sentence was manifestly excessive.

Two of three Court of Criminal Appeal judges granted the appeal and reduced the sentence to a term of 16 years and six months, with a non-parole period of 12 years.
