I find it strange that the police haven't stated the date and approximate time that Karen's brother in-law was seen " Police search for missing mother Karen Ristevski on the quiet rural road where it's claimed her brother-in-law Vasko Ristevski was spotted at a burned down restaurant". A date and time might well establish that he may have been seen on another occasion and would help to possibly allow other witness’s to come forward if that was the case. It’s a possible crime scene as a phone connected to the enquiry was pinged to the area so surely Karen’s brother-in-law has been questioned as to what he was doing there. If I am connected by family to a possible missing/murder enquiry then no way am I returning to a potential crime scene that was previously searched unless I had a valid reason to be there for either family or business. What he was doing when seen at the burnt out restaurant on a quiet road?

I have seen a few photos and TV shots of Karen’s brother in-law months ago and I honestly doubt that I would recognise him from a distance. I think he was spotted but not in real time. He may have possibly gone back (5 plus months is a good wait) to possibly retrieve evidence and police surveillance has picked this up after the fact. Maybe cameras were hidden previously or a phone or car were tracked to the area which gave them the thought to conduct another search.

I don’t think the police would have gone in for a two day search with as many men and a specialised tracking dog unless they were certain someone close to the situation had re-visited. Remember the area was previously searched and nothing was found. Hopefully something was found this time but possibly a major piece of evidence had already been removed.

The most puzzling piece of the whole case is the police haven’t let up trying to solve what has happened to Karen yet the two closest people to her are behaving as that is the furthest thing on their minds! Bizarre to say the least!

After reading many books, the old saying is a perpetrator will always leave something behind and take something with them, along with re visiting the scene. I have tried to google the burnt our restaurant however to no avail. Anybody know the name??

Vasko might have been seen there before Karen's disappearance, perhaps scavenging after the fire. If he had been there for that purpose, perhaps with others in the family for assistance, it might have established the area as familiar-feeling enough for the culprit to use it as a disposal site.

I was told that the burnt out restaurant was Blackhill Estate-Jack's Wine Bar, 620 Black Hill Rd. Apparently it was a winery & a restaurant with great pizzas, it had a social media page with many locals checking in, 21'sts etc

Much appreciated.

On ch10 news Mon 19 Dec, the first day of the search, they had a comprehensive coverage of the search. During the story they had an interview with a local whose property adjoins the burnt out restaurant. During that interview the woman claimed that she had seen VR at the burnt out restaurant prior to and after KRs disappearance. She even described his vehicle. I tried to find a link at ch10 play but the news bulletin for that day has been removed, strange. Did anyone else manage to catch that story and is a link available.

I scribed a number plate of a vehicle that had been outside Oakley Drive on a number of occasions, which was an old Corolla, often wondered who it belonged to. I still have the number plate details for anybody who is interested.

I can think of reasons why people would be seen around a burned down restaurant or other buildings.

One is someone who metal detects for a hobby. I think they call them metal detectorists.

Another might be possibly that possibly friends or family might be doing their own searching for Karen.

Ie we hear about other families looking for their missing loved ones and we don't think there is anything strange about that.

If it's true and VR is the person who locals claim to have seen at the burned down restaurant, he better have a damn good reason for being there! *Can't think of any reason why one would be visiting a burned down restaurant myself, other than, they're up to no good and criminal activity is involved!!* :jail:

Didn't catch that story, but I do find it more than a little interesting that VR and not BR has been noticed and remembered for being in the area of the burnt out restaurant ....... oh boy! 🤔

They don't usually say, in effect, don't worry folks, she's probably slipped off to China or America.

I'm trying to keep an open mind on what I think has happened to Karen.
It's not up to me to defend or accuse anyone. I'll leave that up to the police and the courts.

So far I don't know for certain who is responsible but I do believe she is no longer alive. But then again I could be wrong, it has been known to happen.

I've heard of Metal Detectorists--but if they were doing it solely because it was a hobby of theirs, would they choose an area that had such a gruesome history? I mean, really? I don't know about anyone else, but if I knew someone had been murdered and/or buried in a particular area, there's no way I'm going digging for anything let alone step foot in the area. There's an "eerie" feeling about the place, know what I mean? Maybe it's just me though, I can't speak for others.

I don't think VR was searching for Karen--locals or at least one local, claimed they saw him at the abandoned restaurant before and after Karen's disappearance. If he was there before she disappeared, what was his reason? That's what I'd like to know. Another member, (sorry username escapes me), mentioned it would help to know when VR was seen in the area, as in date! Knowing even the month would help a great deal.

Mmmm....wine cellar/s and plenty of debris to hide evidence in. I'm sure LE are tracking all POI's right now and psychologists are closely watching if the latest discoveries change their behaviour in any way shape or form.

Hi.....
Also a long time reader - but new poster...
Have been following this case with interest as it is not far from where I reside.
The burning down of the restaurant apparently was under suspicious circumstances and rumour has it - that it was torched for insurance purposes. The restaurant was lovely - fantastic weekend pizzas and a wonderful country atmosphere. We were regulars there. The owner supposedly purchased another property but ran out of money hence why the restaurant was torched. Heartbreaking it was - I still miss that place.
Apparently the adjoining farm that has recently been searched was or is occupied by someone related to Karen.

Just out of interest - Adrian Bailey used to work as a farm hand on Blackhills Rd. And approx 12 months prior to his actions - a colleagues - friend found him looking at her through her bedroom window as she got changed. Called police but he disappeared before they got there.

I just hope Karen is found soon so she can be laid to rest and believe the Police have the answers but are just filling in some gaps

Thanks and welcome Cads! Very interesting info about adjoining farm was or is owned by someone related to Karen!! Also could be a reason why vasko may have been seen in the area. Visiting that relative?

Is there another link, that one didn't work

Hi, I subscribe so might be behind a paywall. I did try and copy and paste but did not work. The link is actually about the Tialeigh Palmer case; I posted in wrong thread!
