Police continue investigations into woman's death at Murwillumbah

Police have established a strike force as they continue investigations into the death of a woman at Murwillumbah on the states north coast yesterday.
About 9pm (Thursday 6 November 2014), police from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command were called to Church Lane where they found a 52-year-old woman deceased.
A crime scene was established and examined by police and special forensic officers.
Strike Force Nincoola, comprising detectives from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command with assistance of the State Crime Commands Homicide Squad, was formed to investigate the womans death.
A post mortem examination is set to be conducted on Saturday (8 November 2014) at Newcastle in an attempt to determine the cause of her death.
Detectives are attempting to piece together the circumstances leading up to the womans death and are keen to speak to anyone who was near the vicinity of the Imperial Hotel on Main Street, Murwillumbah about 8pm last night (Thursday 6 November 2014).
They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the woman who is described as being about 163cm tall with a medium build, short sandy blond hair and wearing dark clothing and glasses.
