''Police investigating the death of a Canadian woman in Sydney's west have released CCTV of what they allege is a phone being thrown from her unit moments after a call to triple-0 ended abruptly.
Key points:
- Tatiana Dokhotaru called triple-0, saying someone was assaulting her
- Police found her body inside her Liverpool unit
- Police believe the phone could be a "key part of the puzzle"
Ms Dokhotaru made a frantic call to police late at night on May 26, telling them she was being assaulted by someone who was demanding money.
She did not manage to give the triple-0 operator an exact address before the phone went dead.''
''Detectives last week flew to Canada to meet with Ms Dokhotaru's family to gather further information about her life and associates in Australia.
Detectives are also continuing to canvass the Liverpool area for CCTV and witnesses who may be able to assist with identifying Ms Dokhotaru's last movements.
State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and Liverpool City Police Area Command established Strike Force Median to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Liverpool Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.''
