Circumstances of Disappearance
Kamila was abducted by her non-custodial mother from a home in Winkelman, Arizona on 08/10/2018. It is believed Kamila was taken to Mexico by her mother and her mother's boyfriend.

Clothing:
Was taken during overnight visit with maternal family. When Kamila was dropped off with maternal family, she was wearing pajamas.

Hayden PD: Non-custodial mother abducts toddler, may have fled to Mexico with boyfriend

Officials with the Hayden Police Department say on Aug. 10, Kamila Cabrera was taken by Jimena Corona Perez, 25, during a visitation near the 200 block of First Street.

They say Kamila's custody was granted to her father, Thomas Cabrera, on Aug. 2.

Cabrera agreed to allow Perez to spend the weekend with Kamila at her mother's residence in Winkelman. She was dropped off on the evening of Aug. 9.

Officials say Perez' mother informed Cabrera that Perez left with Kamila sometime during the middle of the night. She left a note for her mother explaining Kamila was her child and she was taking her.

They say they did not have a physical address for Perez and the Cabrera family only knew she lived in the Phoenix area with her boyfriend, 22-year-old Jose Astorga Valenzuela.

After investigating, officers learned that Valenzuela is a Mexican national who had been turned over to ICE in September of 2017 after being arrested on several charges.

Officers have reason to believe "Kamila's safety could be at significant risk" based on Valenzuela's criminal history.

Valenzuela has two distinct tattoos: one on his left forearm of what appears to be a saint with a stack of money under him and on his right arm, a crown with the initials JM next to it.

Perez also has a crown tattooed on her forearm, matching Valenzuela's.

Officials say Perez' last known location was her previous employer, as recent as the week before Kamila's abduction, at Botas Y Joyeria Diaz near 30th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Police believe Jimena Corona Perez, 25; and her boyfriend, Jose Astorga-Valenzuela, 22; took Kamila and may have absconded with her to Mexico.

Authorities stated that both Astorga-Valenzuela and Perez were in the United States illegally. According to a Hayden Police Department press release, “Officers investigation revealed Astorga-Valenzuela was a Mexican National who had been turned over to ICE in September of 2017 after being arrested and booked into Pinal County Jail on charges of Management of a Criminal Syndicate, Unlawful Flight, Conspiracy, Facilitation, and weapons charges.”

Investigators believe Kamila is at “significant risk” and they are concerned for her safety, which drives the urgency of their investigation.

Authorities added that Valenzuela may go by the name Daniel Guzman and have family in both California and San Luis, Mexico. He also has two tattoos: one on his left arm of a saint atop a stack of money; and another on his right arm of a crown with the initials JM.

Winkleman is a town of 353 residents, about equally distant from Phoenix and Tucson. Mexico is at the bottom of the map. LE said that Kamila could be in Mexico or California.

Poor father. You can't trust people to follow the custody agreements sometimes.

In thearticle about Baby Elle it said something about suffering from chronic ailments, I don't see any mention of that for Kamila - though I'll be the first to admit that I prefer to think that she's living safely in Mexico right now.

Will her mom be able to enroll her in school without a birth certificate in either Mexico or California? (Assuming her dad has this as he's the custodial parent.)

Update: The baby was identified as Emma Cole. Kamila is still missing.
