Can someone search using that image? I tried, no luck. "chevron dress green" didn't produce this. IMHO, this is a catalog image of the dress & not the actual garment worn by the decedent.

Long ago I lived near Casa Grande. Plenty of desert. Dry enough air to mummify a body.

I feel so many unidentified people would have a chance of being identified if there were more publicly accessible databases or programs or whatever available to the everyday people who are trying to help.

I know some means already exist to search images, etc., on social media and the web in general. But there’s an army of folks who could do more, myself included, if we knew more about what programs or apps or techniques to use.

It’s also quite possible this information is out there, and I’m just unaware of it.

Missing person reports and unidentified people should be fairly simple for LE to cross-check, or am I ignorant about that? If time is a factor, maybe LE should outsource the task to reputable groups who are trying to give names to the unidentified.

Tattoos are distinctive to a specific person, usually. And the dress, in this case, is distinctive, as well.

In the case of a man found in a freezer in Norway, South Carolina, @data_nerd_2005 was working through lists of area tattoo shops to see if any of them recognized the unusual tattoos on the man. (The man has since been identified, and has a thread here, but my link didn’t show up correctly.)

I’ve been on WS a long time, and it seems that in this digital age, more could be done? Or maybe I’m just grouchy this morning about another dead person who hasn’t found her way home.

This dress looks VERY similar to ones that they sold at Target, Charming Charlie or similar stores in 2013-2014. I had 2 or 3 in that style when I was in college and they were extremely popular with the 18-24 set during that time, but people stopped wearing them around mid-late 2015 and they stopped being mass produced shortly after. IIRC, they retailed around $20-40 and could also be found at smaller boutiques or online places like Lulus and Red Dress.

I'm trying to do a reverse image search for the dress and similar products that are coming up are from Charming Charlie, Target, Charlotte Russe and Forever 21, all sold between 2013 and 2015. I'm guessing our UID either had the dress for a while or thrifted it as that pattern is not a current style.

The watch is a Timex Indiglo watch, which is a more affordable brand that retails around $50 and this particular one has a distinctive face. It would be helpful if NAMUS were to give us a pic of the back of the watch to judge when it was bought - there are numbers that Timex has on the back that determine when and what kind of batteries were put in. Definitely not a recent style from the last few years or so, based off what I'm seeing from Google.

I think this is the dress or at least it is the same print: https://pumpsandpushups.com/chevron-mint-ootd/

Yeah, you are 100% right and it bothers me to no end when LE simply lists "tattoos" instead of the motif of the tattoo.

Baby on left/Face on right and Rick on the bottom.

OMG that's it!!! BABY FACE RICK

edit:

oof, so i was googling the tattoo phrase and turns out LE already knew but did not care to update the case info

On Saturday June 5, the body of a female was discovered on Tank Road north of Ghost Ranch Road.

Unfortunately, the body was decomposed beyond recognition and we have not been able to identify this person.

If you have any information regarding the identity of this woman, please contact Sgt. Cardita at (520) 421-8711, ext. 6029, email him at jcardita@casagrandeaz.gov, or message us directly.

The woman is believed to be in her 20’s to 30’s. She is also believed to be caucasian, Hispanic, or Native American.

There are two tattoos of significance. One is of a small flower with vine and leaves on the right lower leg. The other is of the words Baby Face Rick with angel wings above it on the left shoulder blade.

Currently, the cause of this person’s death is unknown.

This remains an ongoing investigation.

I'm fairly certain that that's a depiction of the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl on the UID's bracelet. In that case I would guess her racial/ethnic identity to be Hispanic/Latino, which could definitely aid us a bit... but could also prove more complicated as she could likely be undocumented and never reported missing.

There is a tumblr profile of a young woman who posted "yo what babyface Rick". Upon checking it seems she is in Arizona and she likes hiking in the desert. She is using an alias, not her real name.
Not sure if i can post a screenshot of her profile, probably not. I also cannot find out when she was active last, i do not have tumblr.

This seems like a reasonable tip.
You could submit it to the investigating agency listed on her NamUs profile:
Casa Grande Police Department
(520) 421-8700
Agency Case Number is
21-00023297

If you feel comfortable doing so?

I agree this was worth submitting because of the babyface Rick nickname, but I looked through that Tumblr and I don't think it's her because the tattoos don't match. She has two beautiful, large, artistic tattoos, one on her left forearm and one on a calf, and in photos where her bare arms and shoulderblades are visible there's no sign of any other tattoos. She doesn't seem like the type to get amateur tattoos. I found a little more info as well, I'll PM you.
