The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in determining the identity of a female found on March 9, 2009, in the wash near Copper Basin Road and Iron Springs Road in Skull Valley.

Published efforts over the years seeking help to identify the remains have been unsuccessful. This latest effort involves sharing a forensic facial reconstruction that was provided by the Yavapai County Medical Examiner’s office.

If anyone has information regarding this case, you are urged to contact Cold Case Investigator John Shannon at 928777-7293 or leave a tip anonymously by calling Yavapai Silent Witness 1800-932-3232.

15 ruleouts - mostly from AZ but also elsewhere. No possible COD listed but how would she have ended up in a wash, in her sleepwear if there wasn't foul play?

Namus was updated again 13 March 2023 - still the same 15 ruleouts listed two posts above.

She could have had some health condition, passing in her sleep. And her caregiver or family member buried her along the trail and is probably still collecting the social security money for her.

I do not understand the huge age range. You can easily tell if someone is 21 or 70, even if you only have a few bones. They must have at least a skull, it is one of the bones with the most obvious age determinants. Granted, it can be hard to tell someone in their 50s from someone in their 70s, depending on individual ageing and underlying conditions but you can always tell someone in their 20s from someone middle aged.

Her case was updated in Namus a few days ago. Not sure if this was just added, but I notice she has a Cold Case Investigator listed as her case officer now (John Shannon, Cold Case Investigator, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office).
